This week I had a rare night out and I went to my first ‘bloggers’ event: Victorinox Presents Bloggers Delight. I headed to the Victorinox flagship store on New Bond Street to view their new Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. On arrival we were greeted with a delicious choice of drinks and canapes (always a winner in my book!). We had an informal look round the three floors of the shop, viewing their collections of knives, luggage, clothing, perfume and watches.
Victorinox is famous for supplying multi-purpose knives to the Swiss Army since 1891 but it is only recently that the brand has expanded to other areas. We were introduced to a stylist who showed us some of the key looks for Autumn/Winter 2010. Their clothes are stylish and practical and designed for the ski slopes. We were quite impressed with the technology that was integrated with the clothes although I hope I would never be caught in an avalanche and need to be tracked down!
I wasn’t aware that Victorinox produced cutlery but they have a huge range of kitchen and professional knives. A chef was demonstrating how sharp the knives were by throwing tomatoes at them as well as carving fruit and vegetables. I’m afraid my only photograph of the night shows what happened to an aubergine!
Yes, the silly blogger that I am forgot her camera so no pics of the amazing displays of watches, the wall of Swiss Army knives or the fashion we saw! The Victorinox brand is lovely and I may well drag my husband to the store next time we are in the West End.
