    Lovely post

The joy of being at home resting my foot means that I am ready to pounce on the postman before he has a chance to take parcels back to the depot. Today I received a lovely parcel from Sam as I was the lucky winner of her recent blogiversary giveaway. She sent me a beautiful handmade card, ring, keyring and necklace made from her wonderful fabric covered buttons. The parcel really cheered me up and her work is amazing so go and check it out! These also arrived today, beautiful pearl hairpins for the wedding. I spent ages looking for…

    Poor me

So, 16 days before our wedding and I have managed to break the big toe on my right foot. I stubbed my toe yesterday – which hurt like mad – but couldn’t do anything about it as I was up in north Scotland for work. By the time I got home and looked at my toe it was a horrible shade of purple and I could barely walk on it. This morning I went to see the Doctor who sent me off to get my toe x-rayed at one hospital, and then on to another hospital so the A&E department…

    wedding invites

As I previously mentioned we designed our own wedding invites using a variety of pictures of us when we were little. We chose four designs and printed them through wonderful moo. We also made a set of RSVP postcards using our favourite photographs taken on the Isle of Wight. We made sure we addressed the postcards and put a stamp on them so I hope everyone sends them back – hopefully they will be a wonderful keepsake from our wedding. Our theme has really come together over the last few weeks which I am so pleased about. We did some…

    Wedding update

We’ve been incredibly busy organising our wedding over the last few weeks. We set a date, booked a Church and reception venue, and finally ordered the invites and associated stationery. Who knew that getting married could be so exhausting? Practically every day a decision has to be made. We’ve picked a great theme to hold the day together and we’ve roped in my mum to help us source objects. All will be revealed! I couldn’t help but play with this, found here. And finally (bit of a long post for me today!) I’ve found a new swap to make a…

    moo postcard and notecard

moo postcard and notecard, originally uploaded by Jennifer Young. I really want to make our own invitations for our wedding. My heart sank when my mum mentioned she had been looking at embossed invites and I quickly jumped in and told her we’d been thinking about using our own photographs through moo.com to send out save the date cards, invites and RSVPs. So last week we had a trial run and ordered a pack of postcards and notecards using our favourite images and I love them. We can put our own text on the back, they are simple, and best…

    A windy day

It’s just such strange weather for June, windy, windy and windy, especially on our little island off the south coast of England. I spent the morning trying on wedding dresses, which was both traumatic and strangely fun. I’ve been adamant all along that I don’t want to wear some white meringue monstrosity. Sure enough the first dress shop I went to tried squeezing me into dresses which I hated. The second dress shop was the opposite and let me try on what I wanted. Altogether I only tried on six dresses before I found the perfect dress. Hooray. We spent…

    I've got one of these

In tacky wedding news we don’t yet have a date but we do have a countdown clock and it’s wonderfully kitsch. We’re currently on the Isle of Wight looking at more venues and re-visiting a couple of favourite venues. I’m experiencing the full horror of dress appointments tomorrow! Wish me luck. PS I’ve finally turned off my spam filter as some people told me they had difficulty leaving comments. I just thought nobody read my blog so please feel free to say hello if you’re lurking 🙂
