Continuing the theme of Christmas then, as we’ve decided it’s not too early to mention it… I made a lovely ornament using this tutorial from the Orange Flower: Sketchbook blog. What do you think? I hope my swap partner likes it 🙂

No? Good. A couple of weeks ago I made some cute felt ornaments for a swap. They were originally flat but looked rubbish so I added some filling:

I had a lovely parcel waiting for me when I got home from work today. It was a lovely owl from Kerri at craft-a-licious.Can you see him hiding amongst my roses? The photograph doesn’t do him justice because it is made so well. It is one of the nicest handmade items I have received in ages!

Well looks like I missed a couple of days there! I was fully intending to post some pictures of the monkeys I made my partner but life got in the way as usual.Anyway, here they are. Made from the wonderful pattern in Sock and Glove by Miyako Kanamori , a book which I really love. I seem to have signed myself up for a few more swaps, including something handmade for the sewing room. I was thinking of making a needle case or pin cushion as I’ve never made either. I have a couple of weeks to decide and make…

I received a wonderful parcel from Katy at i’m a ginger monkey as part of the Monkey Swap hosted by Claire. I was very excited to open it as a little monkey was stamped on the packaging – obviously no photograph as I was too excited to stop and photograph it! Inside was another lovely package tied up with a monkey pen – again, no photo as I was too excited. I couldn’t resist signing up for the Secret Monkey Swap, hosted by Claire. I’ve been searching through my sewing books and am inspired! I can’t wait to get sewing. The secret part of the swap means I’m not going to say who my swap partner is until they’ve received my monkey in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned:)

Oops, another week has been and gone and I’ve neglected by poor blog. What can I say, except the weeks are flying by. Here are the cute little felt Easter bunnies I made for a recent swap. I’m hoping my swap partners have received then by now. I made them from one of my favorite craft books, Softies. I’ve managed to spend some of my weekend sewing something for another swap which will get posted shortly. Pictures will have to wait until then.

Where have the last two weeks gone? I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since I last posted. I’ve been busy sewing some Easter ornaments for a swap I joined. Just a little peek for now before my partners receive them.

I received a wonderful swap package from Claire as part of the Robot swap. She made three little robots out of the softest fabric you can imagine. Here they are sitting on my vintage bureau. They remind me of weebles – you must remember them – “weebles wobble but they don’t fall down!” Thanks Claire. We love them and they’ll look great on my toy shelf. I was very happy to read that Cath Kidston is bringing out a new craft book called Make, found via The Lark. Luckily we’ll be back from our honeymoon by the time it’s released…
