We love a public art trail and were delighted to find ourselves at Lyme Regis at the start of the Stampede by the Sea art trail. For eight weeks you can discover a special herd of decorated elephants around Lyme Regis, West Bay and Bridport. Stampede by the Sea art trail {Lyme Regis} The free art trail features around fifty elephant sculptures. Each elephant has been designed by an artist and sponsored by a local business. Over the weekend we finally made it into London to visit the Penguin Parade Sculpture Trail at Fleet Street Quarter. The sculptures have been situated around Fleet Street Quarter for the last 8 weeks, so we managed to catch them on the last few days! Penguin Parade Sculpture Trail at Fleet Street Quarter London Fleet Street Quarter is a lovely corner of London that we don’t visit very often. It was lovely and quiet and easy to walk between the 12 sculptures, each lovely penguin painted by a different artist. The free art trail supports the work of the WWF,…

We love an art trail and there have been some fun ones around this year. We tried to walk the Heritage Summer Trail around London Heritage Quarter earlier this year, but we picked the busiest Saturday in London and had to give up. Luckily a few weeks later we managed to discover the wonderful dog sculptures from the Canary Wharf Art Trail, the Little Egg Hunt Trail and SmileyWorld. Big Fun Art Adventure owl trail The Big Fun Art Adventure is a sculpture trail of owls around north London, delivered by North London Hospice in partnership with Wild in Art.…

A few weeks ago we went to see the SmileyWorld art trail at Battersea Power Station. Battersea Power Station is a fun destination and we enjoyed grabbing a map and trying to locate the sculptures. SmileyWorld art trail at Battersea Power Station The SmileyWorld art trail is a self-guided trail featuring 15 different sculptures. On one side is a Smiley, the other side features a unique art work. We picked up a trail map from the information desk (but you can also download one to your phone). The sculptures were placed around the outside of Battersea Power Station and inside…

Today we managed to catch the last few days of The Little Egg Trail in London. We love a sculpture trail and this sounded a great way to end the Easter holidays – the kids are not excited about going back to school next week. The trail runs from 18th March to 15th April, and you can follow the simple trail to discover 12 giant eggs around Sloane Square in London. Spanning the neighbourhood, each and every giant egg has been beautifully designed by a high-profile artist to raise awareness for wildlife conservation charity, The Elephant Family. The Little Egg…

King’s Cross Monster Trail We walked to Coal Drops Yard from King’s Cross Underground station and headed for the Visitor Centre to pick up a trail map for free. Last month I shared a post about our epic visit to London to see the Morph’s Epic Art Adventure London trail. I’m sure it’s possible to visit all the sculptures in one day but we decided to break it down and visit them over a few days. We love a trip into London as there’s always so much to see and do. Not only is Morph’s Epic Art Adventure London trail accessible to all, it’s also free and fun to do. We did pay for the app but it’s definitely made ticking off the sculptures more fun and well worth…
