Last night I went to a swanky London venue to learn more about the latest third generation Flip Video pocket camcorder. On arrival we were met by members of the paparazzi who filmed us walking down the red carpet. Then we were given delicious red button cocktails and some yummy canapes. The room was full of bloggers and journalists all keen to learn more about the latest Flip. I was given the chance to play with one of the new Flip camcorders which has just been launched. It was really simple to use and my short film was viewed on…

Royal Mail have just launched their new Christmas stamps which feature two of my favourite characters, Wallace and Gromit. Religious and secular themed stamps are published in alternate years and this year is the turn of secular designs (stamps featuring the Madonna and child are also on sale). There are five stamps specially created by Ardman, showing Wallace and Gromit singing carols, posting their Christmas cards, decorating the tree, opening Christmas presents and carrying a Christmas pud. Royal Mail have also launched the site WallaceandGromitStamps.com where you can create yourself (or anyone) in a Wallace and Gromit-style character and share…

Almost since the day we took Edward home from the hospital I’ve been wondering when was the best time for baby number two. I love Edward and I’m surprised how much I enjoy being a mother. I’m not sure what I expected but the last seven and a half months have been exciting and exhilarating as well as hard work and exhausting 🙂 However, I’m 33 and keen to expand my little family before too long so when I was given the opportunity to review The Second Baby Survival Guide I jumped at the chance. The book was written by…

The lovely people at Miffy sent Edward a toy from the new selection of classic Miffy toys which have never been available in the UK before. The Miffy rattle car is suitable from 6 months and features a chunky handle – prefect for little chubby fingers learning to grip. Each of the four wheels contains small balls, which provide the rattle, and feature Dick Bruna’s other well known characters. The rattle makes a noise when pushed along. At 7 months Edward is interested in toys he can really interact with so I wasn’t sure how much fun he would have with…

Quinny have asked to have a look at the chassis of our Quinny Zapp Xtra in light of it falling over with Edward in it. So it has been carefully packed and returned to Quinny HQ. We look forward to seeing if they find anything wrong with it. In the meantime, we will be resorting to using our faithful, vintage (i.e. very old) Bugaboo.

I’ve just collected my 6 month sample pack from Bounty. I love a freebie and that didn’t change during my pregnancy when I signed up to every mother and baby club I could find. I’ve benefited from lots of samples which have helped me choose the best products for my little boy. I’m brand aware but I wouldn’t say I got sucked in by all the marketing that gets thrown at pregnant women. There was little that interested me in the Bounty pack (except a bar of Galaxy and can of Coke!). I was more interested in the Mama Pack…

What is it about being a mummy to an adorable little boy that has turned me into some kind of Nigella? Since having Edward I just want to bake and cook all day long, even though he is still on the puree. Long gone are the days I would nip into M&S for something to bung in the oven for dinner. Now I plan what we’ll eat in advance and I make all our meals from scratch. Since my husbands’ illness earlier this year our diet is now wheat free and virtually free of red meat. Some of my highlights…

This week I had a rare night out and I went to my first ‘bloggers’ event: Victorinox Presents Bloggers Delight. I headed to the Victorinox flagship store on New Bond Street to view their new Autumn/Winter 2010 collection. On arrival we were greeted with a delicious choice of drinks and canapes (always a winner in my book!). We had an informal look round the three floors of the shop, viewing their collections of knives, luggage, clothing, perfume and watches. Victorinox is famous for supplying multi-purpose knives to the Swiss Army since 1891 but it is only recently that the brand…

Today we decided to take the Quinny Zapp Xtra out for a spin in central London. We wanted to go and visit an exhibition at the wonderful Museum of London where I worked a couple of years ago. Here’s my video of my husband unpacking the Quinny Zapp Xtra from the car and putting it together. [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1W6bkwMALH4&fs=1&hl=en_US&rel=0] As you can see it’s really easy to unpack and put together. We spent some time in the Museum of London before we had lunch then went for a stroll around Smithfield and did some geocaching. Edward was so comfortable that he slept…
