    Playmobil Great Asian Castle review

We were excited to be chosen as Playmobil Playologists for the second year running. The children adore Playmobil and I find all the different sets work quite well together. We were recently sent our main review toys. Big Brother received the amazing #5479 The Great Asian Castle from the Dragons range. This was a great set for him. It took me about an hour to put together but the instructions were clear and I only needed my husband to click together some of the larger pieces. Enemies beware! The Great Asian Castle is protected by a fierce fire-breathing dragon. When…

    Fun with the Sylvanian Families

For a long time Little Sis has been obsessed with Peppa Pig. Thankfully she’s recently become interested in other toys and has been building up a little collection of Sylvanian Families, or ‘Families’ as she calls them. I remember them from my own childhood so I’m pleased to see they’re still going strong. Created in Japan in 1985, Sylvanian Families is made up of woodland creatures, dolls houses and furniture sets. The Bramble Hedgehog Family were recently introduced and Little Sis was sent a set to review. With their soft bark-brown spines, wide eyes, and button noses, the Bramble Hedgehog…

We were sent a copy of The Hungry Duck puppet book and Train & Truck Pop and Play bath toy to review. The Hungry Duck…

    Peppa Pig Colorino

This week Little Sis has been having fun with a brand new product from Ravensburger called Peppa Pig Colorino. It is aimed at children aged 2+ and involves children learning about colours through matching coloured pegs onto a variety of Peppa pictures. Peppa Pig Colorino contains 4 colour pictures, 4 black and white pictures, 24 coloured pegs in 6 colours and a clear plastic board. The idea is you choose a picture to play with, slide it behind the plastic board and then ‘colour’ in with the pegs. It’s great for children learning their primary colours and Little Sis has…

    Win a Leapfrog Creativity Camera

I’m always keen to encourage my children’s learning so was delighted to be sent some Leapfrog products to try with them. Leapfrog sell a huge range of learning toys which range from tablets to gaming systems, reading and writing toys. Both my children already have a My Pal Violet and  My Pal Scout and Big Brother has a Read with Me Scout too which he loves. They both love technology and are completely happy to have an iPhone or iPad to play with but I prefer them to play with age suitable toys. Big Brother was very happy to receive…

    Gruffalo Story Stones

You may have noticed we’ve been a little obsessed with the Gruffalo lately. We recently spent a lovely time in the deep dark wood hunting for the Gruffalo and friends on a Gruffalo activity trail. My children also enjoyed a fun Gruffalo-themed bento box for their lunch. I thought I would keep the theme going with some Gruffalo Story Stones. Gruffalo Story Stone materials: Smooth stones Decopatch glue Colour images of the Gruffalo, Snake, Owl, Fox and Mouse How to make Gruffalo Story Stones: First I chose some smooth stones from our stash, every time we visit the beach we…

Miniclara Doll and Ballerina Outfit Set review

It’s probably no surprise that my 2 year old daughter loves her dolls. In her short little life she’s amassed quite a collection of dolls, vintage doll beds and of course doll quilts made by me! It’s not often she’s sent toys but she was the lucky recipient of a Great Gismos Miniclara Doll and Ballerina Outfit Set, which is part of the Wonderland range from NICI, to review. Miniclara Doll is a very sweet 30 cm plush doll, dressed in a leotard, ballet shoes, removable tutu, bag and Little Kitty.  She also received an additional outfit set consisting of…

    Little Tikes Jelly Bean Racer

As well as the Little Tikes 4-in-1 Trike Sports Edition we reviewed yesterday, Little Sis was also sent the brand new Little Tikes Jelly Bean Racer. It was easy to get out of its packaging and Little Sis was able to sit on it and move around straight away. When I got it out of the box I thought it might be a little young for her (she’s now 30 months). However she loves whizzing around the house on her Jelly Bean Racer, we have the perfect floors for it! It really does look like a Jelly Bean although we…
