I saw this advertised recently, isn’t it lovely? It’s a new reusable water bottle designed by Orla Kiely for Brita. We’ve been Brita converts for a while so I can’t wait to get my hands on one! My favourite stem print too! They’re launched soon, to find out more check out the brita website

I was lucky enough to receive a travel journal from the new Orla Kiely range for my birthday. It’s the car print which matches one of my favourite handbags. The journal contains a combination of papers – ruled, graph and blank, as well as a variety of colourful stickers. Don’t they look great together?

I couldn’t resist making the lavender baby tutorial I saw over at molly chicken yesterday. I think I still have a lot to learn about which fabrics go well together but I love it! I’ve used some Orla Kiely and Michael Miller fabrics for the body and stuffed it with some dried lavender I picked up in Totnes, Devon, before Christmas. It smells beautiful and I’m going to make a few for some friends.

I was lucky enough to win a copy of Green is the New Black in a giveaway on the Make London blog the other week. The book arrived today and looks great so it is packed in my Orla Kiely weekend bag. Monday is our three year anniversary so I’m ready to be whisked off for a romantic break in Bruges, just waiting for the boyfriend to come and get me. Included with the book were some discount vouchers for the first workshop I book at the make lounge, so I will be looking for courses as soon as I…

So I finally had some time to try and make a yo-yo. I bought three different varieties and sizes so I could make both regular round ones and flower shaped ones. The Clover Yo-yo maker is kind of cool but the instructions were obviously translated from Japanese and a little hard to follow, especially at the end. My first one didn’t turn out too badly though, made out of some Orla Kiely fabric. Any advice on securing the thread gratefully received!

Today I visited the Cath Kidston sale again and after much deliberating came away with a large sewing box. As you can see I have an almost identical smaller version but it hardly held anything. The new one is much much better. Some new purchases also arrived courtesy of ebay, some lovely vintage bias and ric rac. And my lovely boyfriend surprised my by buying me the new Orla Kiely doormat I saw in Heal’s. It’s almost too good to wipe your feet on but it’s too big to frame!

I love this new door mat, designed by Orla Kiely and on sale at Heal’s, with all profits to the Terence Higgins Trust. I love Heal’s but don’t usually find anything I really want. This, however, is made for my front door!

I have a poorly boyfriend who has the flu but that hasn’t stopped us from shopping at Exmouth Market this afternoon. I was absolutely horrified to read that Hazel Blears has an Orla Kiely handbag. Orla Kiely is my favourite designer and I have enough handbags and accessories to wear something different every day for a month. How could a politician such as Hazel Blears have the good taste to own such a bag? Apparently Labour are worried that they haven’t addressed the huge divide between rich and poor in this country since they’ve been in control, illustrated in the…

I’ve had a busy and expensive few days. On friday I spent lots of money on two new Orla Kiely handbags to add to my expanding collection. I bought my first leather bag, which is red, and I love it. Then yesterday we went to re-visit a beautiful print we saw in a shop window in Crouch End and ended up buying it! It is a print by Stuart Free and shows the old sign on the Hornsey Road Baths which they are currently turning into flats (what else!). The print is fantastic and looks great in our dining room.…
