Finally we have moved. It’s a strange feeling and I’m not quite sure how I feel at the moment. Despite a few problems (removal firm late, the house being full of furniture when we arrived with our van load, a fences, tree and shed all blown down by the recent gales) the house is just as nice as we remembered. We (I) have unpacked as much as we (I) can, someone just needs to tell the boyfriend to sit down.

Finally, our last day in our flat! I can’t believe after a whole year of planning we’re finally ready to move into our beautiful Edwardian house. I’m so excited but sad to be leaving our little flat. I’m going to miss living in Zone 2 and I feel like a true Islingtonite through and through. Now we just need to decide how we’re going to spend our last few hours, hopefully watching the new series of Top Gear and a final meal at our favourite local, the Lord Palmerston.

The panic is setting in. Today the boxes arrived, I cleaned the oven and the bathroom, and I sorted out yet more things for the nearest charity shop. I managed to find five minutes to make some little fairy cakes 🙂

Only 7 days left in our little bijoux flat. Tonight Robin defrosted the fridge while I watched and gave moral support. I can’t believe it took 3 hours. Another exciting evening in this joint household! This will of course change when we move into our mansion next week.

Oh the weekend has gone too quickly! Today we went shopping around Covent Garden and I couldn’t help myself and bought some lovely fabric in the Cath Kidston shop and my very first Blythe! It took me ages to find Blythe but eventually I found a very small one in Forbidden Planet. Then we had a long lunch with some friends at The Crown and Two Chairmen in Soho. I was allowed to choose a new Orla Kiely handbag today but sadly after two trips I just couldn’t decide between them all! I wish my boyfriend wasn’t quite so generous…

Hooray, 9 days until we move. Spent the afternoon walking around Camden market, went to see London: A Life in Maps at the British Library, on to The Angelic for a few drinks before dinner at Angel Mangal, our favourite Turkish restaurant in Angel. I also decided to go back to my lovely old Motorola phone. Despite the beautiful Cath Kidston pattern on my new phone, at the end of the day it was a cheap old Nokia phone that squeaked when opened!
