    Disney’s Cinderella Exhibition

Yesterday I read an article about Disney’s Cinderella Exhibition Presented By Swarovski. Straight away I booked some tickets to the free exhibition as my daughter loves Cinderella and we’re going to see the film next week. Disney’s Cinderella Exhibition is the official exhibition of costumes and props from the new film, which is directed by Kenneth Branagh and stars Lily James, Cate Blanchett, Richard Madden and Helena Bonham Carter. The tour takes you on a journey through five multi-sensory zones including a Cinderella heritage gallery, Cinderella’s home, Fairy Godmother’s Transformation, the Grand Ballroom, and a Modern Day Princess Gallery. We…

    Monday happy things

My list of things making me happy is quite shallow this week – – Last week I went to the Hobbycraft press show (on my own!). It’s not often that the children are both looked after and I’m invited to something I want to go to but it all worked out for once. I picked up some lovely samples from their new Easter range so I’m sure there will be a little giveaway of those soon. – On the way home from the Hobbycraft show I just about managed to squeeze in a visit to my favourite Cath Kidston store…

    The Necropolis Railway

Last weekend we had a really lovely day out. The sun was shining and we had a day with nothing urgent to do so we headed out to tick off some places from our never-ending list of places we want to visit. I’ve mentioned before about the Magnificent Seven, the name given to the 7 cemeteries established on the outskirts of London during the Victorian period. Back in 2008 I wrote that we wanted to visit all seven that year. Well we failed miserably! Sometimes my blog is a useful aid for recording and sometimes not so useful. In 2007…

    Monday happy things

Another Monday and today is definitely the last day of our Christmas holiday. My husband is already back at work and I am (mentally at least) prepared for the nursery/school run/station drop off first thing tomorrow morning. We had a small splurge in the Lego shop and bought two new sets. We’ve already built and played with the new Lego Frozen set – Elsa’s Sparkling Ice Castle. The children love it and I enjoyed building it! We also treated ourselves to the new Lego Ideas Bird set which has just been released. I really can’t wait to build them but…

Christmas crafting at Tea & Crafting

On Saturday I got the chance to spend a rare day with my son. We had been invited by DryNites to spend the day at London craft workshop Tea & Crafting and have some fun crafting time together. My 4 year old loves to craft so I knew he would enjoy this. He loved every second! Christmas crafting at Tea & Crafting You may remember I had previously spent a crafty morning with the DryNites team and Tamara Melvin earlier this year. If you recognise the name, she was the finalist in the Great British Sewing Bee. She had two…

Remote controlled helicopters at RAF Museum London

Last weekend we were invited to the RAF Museum London for the UK launch of Propel’s remote control helicopters. This was a winning combination for my husband and son and we all had a great day out. An area of the museum had been set aside to try out the new remote control helicopters and there was also a craft table, photo booth and yummy snacks. My 4 year old loves his radio controlled cars and planes so was eager to try out the new toys. The range of helicopters is designed to suit all abilities and ages; from children…

    Monday happy things

Although I swore I wouldn’t start getting excited about Christmas until the 1st of December I admit I may have slipped. This weekend we were invited to a preview of Get Santa, a festive film which is out on December 5th. It features some brilliant British actors such as Jim Broadbent, Rafe Spall, Joanna Scanlan and Warwick Davis and is a really fun family film. Basically, a young boy finds Santa Claus in the shed at the bottom of his garden after he has crash landed his fancy new sleigh. Santa enlists the boy and his father to get the reindeer,…

    On my mantel – September

I love reading Tales from a Happy House and how her mantel charts the seasons in her house. When I saw her invitation to join in I knew I had to, albeit a little last minute as usual. Our fireplace is pretty nasty but I love the mantel in our living room, it’s a real focal point and I just had to share what’s on my mantel this month. I’ve said before that we haven’t decorated our living room since we moved in last April. The room is painted a neutral colour which means most things look good. The two…

    Living the London Life

A couple of week ago I treated myself to a trip to the Cath Kidston flagship store at 180 Piccadilly. I say treated myself because I know I can never visit without buying something! I like all the stores, I’ve visited a few *ahem* but the flagship store is my favourite. Despite being in a modern building it’s decorated with modern vintage, obviously. I particularly love the display of board games in the Kids section which as you know I’ve done in our own house. The walls of the shop are lined with distressed wooden doors and make use of…
