Today we are not happy. We had planned a nice day out and instead spent it in B&Q and Wickes (like last weekend, and the weekend before….). Today our new front door lock broke and we couldn’t get in. So we had to break the back door down (after climbing over next doors garden wall!). We fixed the broken lock but have to buy a new back door tomorrow. Fortunately we wanted to replace the door anyway – we just weren’t planning on doing it this weekend. Bloody rubbish house! And yes, the back door is temporarily patched with the…

I was hoping we might exchange contracts today but we didn’t, due to loads of difficult people in our chain. Never mind. To compensate, I dragged the boyfriend to Libertys where I looked at their beautiful material and bought some lovely pieces from their haberdashery. They have now beaten John Lewis in my estimation. Waiting for Dominos pizza. Yummy! PS. celebrity BB is terrible!

This evening I spotted Mackenzie Crook on the tube at Archway! He didn’t look much like his character in The Office or Pirates of the Caribbean, but I suppose he’s a normal person when he’s not appearing in my lounge. He caught me looking, well, staring open-mouthed, and elbowing my boyfriend whilst mouthing the words “Look, it’s Mackenzie Crook!”. I’m worried there will be a severe lack of celebs when we move up the road. No more bumping into the delicious Damian Lewis in my local Sainsburys, or George Alagiah in Waitrose… Thank god for Heat magazine.

I have a post-office-Christmas-party-hangover, all my own fault, and am therefore feeling very sorry for myself. I am grateful I thought ahead and booked the day off. I have almost finished my Christmas shopping; presents for numerous friends and family, cards for over 50! How did people spend the month of December before Christmas became so commercialised? Who has time to work as well?

Yay, this should officially be our new house in a few weeks. no more flats!

Haven’t posted in a while, too busy living life to blog. The flat is on the market (yippee!) and I’m trying to have a relationship with my boyfriend, rather than the tv 🙂 Anyway, whilst listening to Radio 4 this morning I heard about this cool idea to get everyone to blog their day and added my contribution for posterity: www.historymatters.org.uk

are bliss 🙂 I took today off to do boring stuff, such as write an essay (‘analyse the impact of lesbian history on women’s history’ before you ask). Stuff that requires thought and concentration. However that can wait until tomorrow. Instead I did fun stuff – met the better half for lunch, went to see Americans in Paris at the National Gallery and bought a dress at my favourite shop, Cath Kidston. I’ve been too busy to do much on my family tree lately. I’ve realised that I’m subscribed to 9 family history mailing lists so at least I still…

It’s a shame that the only session of my postgrad course I enjoy is the session my tutor can’t make.

Another day of learning to live in the new London. I should explain my selfish reasons for wanting a blog. It’s because I don’t want my life to be reduced to a photograph in the Evening Standard or at the end of the evening News because I’m not here anymore. I’m a person, not a great one, but still, I have a boyfriend, family, friends and hopes, dreams and aspirations. If anything happens I want to be remembered. I’m trying to persuade my boyfriend to move somewhere safe. But as my mum pointed out last night, animal rights activists set…
