    One of my crafty passions is knitting so I was delighted to be sent a copy of Labour of Love: over 20 knitting patterns for treasured girls. This is the first book by Vibe Ulrik Sondergaard who studied fashion design at Kingston University. This book is absolutely beautiful! I would be happy to keep this on my coffee table but it is also full of contemporary patterns I would love to make, in fact I’ve already marked a few for my to-do-list!     Nursery knits

    This beautiful facecloth was made from a pattern in Natural Nursery Knits. I bought this book from my favourite shop in Ryde when Edward was a few weeks old. It is a lovely book, full of unusual patterns and gorgeously illustrated. Now, I can’t knit so you may wonder why I bought a book of knitting patterns! My mum is an amazing knitter and made the washcloth in a couple of evenings. You can see it features Edward’s initial.     Clean washing

    Who would have thought a 6-week old could make so much mess? In a typical day Edward seems to go through at least one clothes change, 8 muslins, 3 bibs and a mattress fitted sheet. We also learnt today that certain brands of bib melt in the tumble drier. Oops. Life has calmed down enough for us to think about knitting something in the beautiful Natural Nursery Knits that we picked up in our favourite shop in Ryde a few weeks ago.
