    Mistletoe sun catcher

    Mistletoe is such a pretty plant. We usually buy a bunch in December to hang inside our home – the perfect thing to grab a Christmas kiss under! This year we couldn’t find any to bring indoors so we decided to make our own mistletoe sun catcher. Mistletoe sun catcher craft for kids We used: cellophane wrappers from sweets, contact paper and white card. First I drew a piece of mistletoe on a sheet of white card. I cut out the mistletoe using my scalpel and cutting mat but you could do this with scissors. I covered one side with…

    How to make a Duck Tape keyring

    I really should be kept away from my local craft store as I couldn’t resist picking up a roll of Finding Dory Duck Tape. I love Duck Tape and the patterned ones are appealing to both me and my children. Have you seen Finding Dory yet? We’ve seen it twice already, I just can’t resist Hank! With a few weeks until the children go back to school we’ve been making some back to school crafts with the Finding Dory Duck Tape. Duck Tape is versatile so we used it to make wristlet keyrings, perfect for identifying book bags, lunch bags…

    Strange Snail discovery boxes {crafty subscription box for kids}

    My children love receiving mail and their favourite type of mail is a craft package. My 6 year has already told me he wants to be an artist when he grows up, so I am happy to indulge him with craft supplies and activities to explore his hobby. We were offered a Strange Snail discovery box which is a crafty subscription box for kids aged 5-8 year. Each box is themed and activities are tailored to the Key Stage 1 curriculum, so the boxes are educational as well fun. Our box was about the Solar System and called Planet and…

    Swallows and Amazons inspired bunting

    The children have been spending a lot of time in their garden playhouse this summer. We have been helping them make the space their own and personalising it with their favourite posters and beanbags. Today we made our own Swallows and Amazons inspired bunting to decorate the playhouse. Swallows and Amazons inspired bunting We used: A4 white card, Sizzix machine and bunting die, scalpel, cutting mat, contact paper and cellophane sheets. Little adventures with Bear Nibbles Outdoor Alphabet Cards

    More of this beautiful weather please. With the children beginning their summer holidays I am on the lookout for how best to keep them both active and creative. I’m delighted to announce I will be working with BEAR Nibbles over the coming months, as BEAR really understands how to make being healthy a little bit easier and a whole lot tastier. BEAR believes in going the extra mile to ensure kids are both healthy and happy and has recently launched its  Little Paws Outdoors Campaign,  in partnership with The Wildlife Trusts, to make it a little bit easier and a…

    Invitation to play – a beach themed mud kitchen

    Our homemade mud kitchen has been getting a lot of use this year. To mix it up a little I thought I would set up an invitation to play for my children, using some of the treasure we brought back from the beach earlier this year. Every year we try to have a holiday by the sea and this year we brought back a lot of it with us. As we were packing up the car the children were still slipping sea glass and shaped pebbles into their bags, desperate to bring a little of their holiday back to London…

I also think it’s a good way for my children to learn more about sports, different countries and hopefully inspire them too. I can’t miss an opportunity for seasonal crafting so have brought together 11 of the best Olympic crafts and activities for kids to celebrate the Games of the XXXI Olympiad: Easy tennis cupcakes Flag rock featuring…

    Pokémon Go Poké ball pom pom craft

    You can tell the weather must be bad if I’m back with another post today. Have your children caught the Pokémon Go bug? If so, I have a quick and easy craft with our Pokémon Go Poké ball pom poms. In case you didn’t know, a Poké Ball is a type of item that is critical to a Trainer’s quest, and is used for catching and storing Pokémon. Pom poms are always fun to make. You can make your own cardboard circles from an old cereal box which is what I used to do when I was a child. Or…
