I was completely sold by the email announcing the October Lucky Dip Club Box which had the theme of BISCUITS!, especially as it featured two exclusive designs by Nikki McWilliams including a cool DIY kit. I pretty much signed up as soon as I received the email. I love Nikki McWilliams style. I already have a cool Nikki McWilliams print and I love the bag she designed for Blogtacular. My Biscuit Box arrived this morning and I opened it as soon as my children were occupied for 5 minutes. The box is great and I love everything in it, especially the little DIY. There…

What a busy week and weekend! It’s lovely to sit down and take 5 minutes to remember the things which made me smile last week. We enjoyed an amazing meal at Strada at Riverside (More London) on Saturday. We had the best table in the house and were able to enjoy a delicious lunch with a view encompassing HMS Belfast to the Tower of London and London Bridge. I will be writing a full post about our experience this week but let me leave you with this image of our Burrata & prosciutto starter until then. We spent yesterday spotting…

Yesterday I shared our review of the July Japan Candy Box. This is a delicious monthly subscription box filled with 8-10 sweet treats from Japan. We enjoyed trying all the different products and we found the packaging gave a pretty good indication of what was inside – no need to worry about the language barrier! I’ve teamed up with Japan Candy Box to offer one lucky reader the chance to try a Japan Candy Box for themselves and entry couldn’t be easier. Japan Candy Box giveaway: For your chance to win the next Japan Candy Box and try a carefully…

Last week a new subscription box popped through my door – the Japan Candy Box. Japan Candy Box is the sweetest monthly Japanese candy subscription service and we were excited to try it out. This is what our box looked like, packed full of 10 colourful candy and sweet treats to try! It goes without saying that my children love candy too so we tried all the sweets together. Here are our thoughts: The Glico Collon Biscuit Rolls have a funny sounding name and were our least favourite snack. They are like little crispy rolls, perhaps filled with green tea? The Horadekita…

To me Summer means warm weather, days spent at the Lido and a homemade picnic. The weather has been a little unsettled recently but we made the most of a decent day at the weekend and headed out for a picnic. As well as sandwiches and savoury snacks we took some homemade lemon cupcakes which were the perfect sweet treat. I love to bake with my children and it’s always fun to try a new recipe. I used a lemon curd cupcake recipe I found on the Flora website which was a standard cupcake recipe, using lemon curd to flavour…

I’ve developed a serious addiction to subscription boxes recently. I love anything cute, kawaii or which introduces me to new designers and makers. I’ve been following the Lucky Dip Club box for a while and decided to treat myself to the July box. The subscription rates seem pretty reasonable and I’m *just* about coping with the school holidays. Anyway, my Lucky Dip Club box arrived and I kept it unopened for a few days. I was waiting for a few minutes to myself but I’d forgotten that time is even more precious when your routine goes out of the window…

This week I received a super cute box of kawaii loveliness. You all know how much I love my kawaii goodies so I was super excited to receive the July Super Cute Box. Quite simply the Super Cute Box is a monthly subscription box filled with cuteness from all around the world! The ethos behind Super Cute Box is twofold: to source cute items from all over the world including kitsch, vintage, quirky, kawaii, retro etc.; and to include at least one item every month from a small business or independent designer. This is a great way to encourage individuals…

I love subscription boxes and if they are full of a carefully selected mix of Japanese and Korean kawaii products even better. Last week the June Kawaii Box landed on my doorstep and I waited until my children were occupied at school before I opened it. It arrived beautifully packaged in a sturdy cardboard box. I peeled the layer of tissue paper to see what was waiting for me. Inside were 12 fun kawaii items including stationery, bag charms, candy and nail art. My favourite without a doubt was the smiling poop sharpener. However my children took this away from me…

Have you heard of Shopkins? They are cute, collectable characters from your favourite shops and my 5 year old is obsessed with them. Every Friday he loves to go to our local toy shop and buy a Shopkins basket with his pocket money and add a couple more Shopkins to his collection. They are quite sweet little toys, all different products you would expect to find at the supermarket, and you can collect the different categories and buy playsets for them. They are very kawaii with their happy little faces and remind me of the cute characters I have stitched…
