As part of my role as a morphy richards innovator we have been trying out a new kettle and toaster from the new Colour Boutique range. Morphy Richards know the importance of colour when it comes to home interiors and adding a splash of colour with striking appliances can be a cost effective way to refresh your kitchen. Our kitchen is a bit of a mix of colours so we chose the orange kettle and toaster from the vibrant range as we both love orange. The first thing we noticed was that the colour on the website and box did…

I can’t resist a good old British heritage brand and I’ve recently been trying Zoflora*, the UK’s favourite household disinfectant brand, which is celebrating its 90th birthday this year. Zoflora is still manufacturing in its Huddersfield factory, since the brand began in 1922, and is known for its fragranced antibacterial disinfectant products. Originally created for use in Britain’s dance halls, it rapidly became a household favourite, replacing harsh carbolic disinfectants with fragrant, perfume enriched Zoflora. Zoflora has been on trend with each generation of user appreciating the new fragrances added to the range. Zoflora is introducing a brand new, limited…

Last week we participated in the P&G Future Friendly Five Days of Sustainable Living challenge. The aim was to do little things each day, reinforcing the idea that you can make your household more sustainable. We were sent a lovely hamper full of P&G Future Friendly products (which are constantly being improved so they use less energy, work with less water and produce less waste) as well as ‘energy saving tips’ to inspire us to live more sustainably and future friendly. Over the week we managed the following: Kitchen hung out the washing (on the only day of sunshine) instead of…

Today I thought I’d share with your my Top Tips for housework as you know I am a housewife extraoardinaire – juggling two young children, a husband who selfishly works from home, two cats and four fish. I love to blog, which means the housework may suffer a tiny bit, but never mind. My Top Tip is – pay someone else to do it. Seriously. I hope that doesn’t come across as terribly middle-class but it’s what we did whilst we could afford it. Unfortunately, we had a run of awful cleaners. I don’t believe any of them were actually…

The new Style range from Vileda is surprisingly contemporary and doesn’t look out of place in any modern kitchen. Someone has finally designed a dish cloth to look as good as all my lovely Cath Kidston towels. The dish cloth is also super absorbent, can be used for washing up and wiping, long lasting and can be hand washed or machine washed! I ‘ll be the first to admit it’s a long time since I bought a dish cloth, in fact I never have. I’ve relied on a scourer to wash the dishes and wipe surfaces clean. However, I’ve been…

I recently participated in a doll quilt swap on swapbot. This was a good opportunity for me to make a dolls quilt which so many people have blogged about recently. Here is the one I made for my partner. I used lots of vintage fabrics which gave it an autumnal feel (I hope). The pattern is from Little Quilts All Through The House and called Celebration Flag, I love the little house block. I had completely forgot that I would be receiving a quilt too so was pleasantly surprised when this was waiting for me this week. The colours are…

Right now I am all cleaned out. We have spent the day finishing off loads of half finished projects, so we have filled holes, painted walls, chopped up trees, cleared the garden and cleaned the house from top to bottom. I take great pleasure in cleaning bits of the house that were clearly never touched by the previous occupants. I have gone through many cleaning wipes and I look forward to enjoying sitting down and admiring my nice clean house.
