Mmm, tonight I am drinking beer from our recent holiday in Bruges so here are some pics from a tour we took of the De Halve Mann Brewery in Bruges

I was lucky enough to win a copy of Green is the New Black in a giveaway on the Make London blog the other week. The book arrived today and looks great so it is packed in my Orla Kiely weekend bag. Monday is our three year anniversary so I’m ready to be whisked off for a romantic break in Bruges, just waiting for the boyfriend to come and get me. Included with the book were some discount vouchers for the first workshop I book at the make lounge, so I will be looking for courses as soon as I…

We’re back from a lovely week away. The cottage was perfect and if anyone is looking for a lovely cottage in a sleepy seaside town I would recommend Brook Cottage in Dawlish. The town was great, although I spent too much at Harrison’s Amusement arcade. We even found a good curry house called the Paradise Palace tucked away in a back street on our last night. Yesterday we made good use of our National Trust membership and visited Greenway, the former home of Agatha Christie, and Coleton Fishacre. The we took the ferry into Dartmouth and hired a boat and…

We are currently on holiday in sunny Devon, staying in a lovely little cottage in Dawlish. We have been pottering around the coast and yesterday took the train from Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway to Kingswear. The weather is unbelievably gorgeous and it feels great to be out of London 🙂

Today we made a day trip to France to pick up some booze for us and fags for my sister. We spent a couple of hours driving round Calais, completely bewildered by the local tradition of wedding parties driving around the city centre tooting their horns! Saturday must be wedding day over there. Then we drove further up the coast to Dunkirk where we had something to eat in a cafe in the main square and people watched. It was so lovely being out of London, even if it was just for a couple of hours. And now we have…

Hooray, home at last after an epic journey. We spent yesterday wandering around Cowes (another of my favourite towns on the Island) in the beautiful sunshine. I’m so happy that the weather was mainly good during our week away! Anyway, visiting Cowes gave me the opportunity to see if my favourite shop had any new things to buy. Luckily it did and I came away with a bag of stuff to fit in the remaining small hole in the car. Paper lanterns for our garden, beautiful girly pink stickers (for no purpose other than I liked them), candle holders for…

The weather was gorgeous today, warm and sunny all day long. We made the most of it by spending all day out and about. First, we walked around Ryde, which must be my second favourite town on the Isle of Wight. Then we headed over to St Helen’s and had lunch with my sister at Baywatch on the Beach – a great restaurant serving delicious food which overlooks the Solent – so something nice to look at and lots of people to watch. Later on we drove down to Sandown where I tried to push back all the hideous memories…

Yippee, my holiday from work has officially started, I now have 11 days until I have to get back on public transport. My holiday has grown to epic proportions in my mind for some reason. Not that my job is stressful or hard but I am looking forward to having a break. I have to complain about my boyfriend. I know I’ve said he’s lovely, but he reads my blog and quotes it back to me! That’s the problem with him being the technical side of the relationship, he knows all my passwords and nothing is sacred anymore, not even…
