    Exploring the history of Harrow School

    A few weeks ago we took the opportunity to look round Harrow School. This is a public school in Harrow on the Hill near where we live. The school was founded in 1572 by John Lyon, a local landowner and farmer, under a royal charter of Queen Elizabeth I. Although it is a boarding school there are open days throughout the year.     The Grim’s Dyke Hotel afternoon tea

    A few weeks ago we booked a table at The Grim’s Dyke Hotel for afternoon tea. We were celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary so wanted to do something special. We last visited The Grim’s Dyke Hotel on an Open House weekend when the house was open to the public. It’s a gorgeous Arts and Crafts house designed by R.
