With Valentine’s Day fast approaching I thought it was time that Little Sis and I practised our baking skills. We made a batch of delicious gingerbread heart biscuits using our favourite gingerbread recipe. We iced them with a simple red fondant. A couple of weeks ago I discovered a brilliant new baking subscription box and recently received my first Bakes Box. It was an exciting collaboration with Maid of Gingerbread to make a Gingerbread Biscuit Box which I mentioned in my gingerbread gift guide post. Gingerbread Biscuit Box It contained almost everything needed with dry ingredients, templates, decorations and instructions. Everything fitted in a flat envelope which slid through my letterbox. I’ve completely fallen in love with my little copy of Gingerbread Wonderland by Mima Sinclair. It’s packed full of inspiration, recipes and ideas for some amazing gingerbread treats. I love the recipe for Light Gingerbread Dough and used it successfully to make our gingerbread Snowman and Snowdog biscuits a couple of week ago. The children really wanted to bake this weekend so we used the recipe to make some gingerbread iron golem biscuits. Both my children love Minecraft so this was a fun activity for them. We’ve made some lovely festive crafts over the last week. The children are so excited about Christmas and I’ve been enjoying watching and listening to their chatter. I can’t believe it’s the last day of November already which means it’s time for my weekly Monday Happy Things post, 5 things which have made me happy this week. My beautiful daughter turned 4 on Saturday. She received a great mix of presents including Sylvanian Families, Peppa Pig, Dora and Doc McStuffins. She was given some birthday money and she enjoyed spending it, choosing her own clothes and more toys, Tsum Tsum seem to be her new favourites. I’d love to say we made her cake, but we didn’t. Yesterday I told you about some of the crafts we had been making with some lovely Christmas craft kits from Baker Ross.
