We are a family of bookworms. We love reading, read every night with the children and enjoy discovering new authors. There seem to be so many exciting books out at the moment. I’ve been sourcing books for our Christmas Book Advent (more of that another day) and couldn’t resist sharing some new books for children aged 5-8. My youngest is starting to read to herself with a little help, whilst my 7 year old is a confident reader. I’m so excited to read some of these books with them over the coming weeks. Book gift guide for kids (age 5-8)…

I know I said that I wasn’t really writing many gift guides this year but I couldn’t resist posting another one. My children are a little Minion crazy. There’s just something about those little yellow dudes and they have inspired playdough and bento in our house. Our favourite films featuring the Minions are the Despicable Me franchise. The films focus on Gru, a super-villain (who later becomes a dad and superhero); his yellow-coloured Minions; and his three orphan girls, Margo, Edith and Agnes. It began with the 2010 film, Despicable Me, and its 2013 sequel, Despicable Me 2. A prequel…

I’ve mentioned a few times now that I’m completely fallen under the spell of paper cutting as a brilliant craft. I was first introduced to it a few years ago when I attended a workshop run by Poppy Chancellor. I booked myself on another paper cutting class with Poppy Chancellor at The Handmade Fair in 2015 and was hooked. I snapped up her book Cut It Out! and quickly worked my way through it so have been looking for more templates and inspiration ever since. I thought it would be fun to share some of my favourite paper cutting things…

I don’t tend to write many gift guides. This is my second of the season (my first one can be found here) and I have one more planned. This gift guide is a little different because it’s full of the things I would love to receive! I’ve always loved adult colouring books and I’m hoping they are here to stay. Here’s a round up of some of my favourite adult colouring books around – perfect in case my husband needs a few ideas! Has your Christmas present panic buying set in yet? Despite feeling quite organised last month I have bought very few presents so far this year. Luckily I have made my lists, I just need to spend some time buying and wrapping everything. My daughter had her birthday last week so I always find her a little trickier to buy for as she has received everything she asked for. I thought it was about time I brought together some of my favourite toy reviews from the past year, with some of the toys my children will be receiving this year. Christmas…

At this time of year our thoughts turn to our festive favourites and what we’ll be reading and watching. We all have our favourite characters but one thing we love to sit and watch together is The Snowman and The Snowman and The Snowdog. I grew up with the story of The Snowman and it’s still a firm favourite in our festive Book Advent. I was so happy to discover The Snowman and The Snowdog and enjoy it with my children. Luckily we are not the only ones who love these characters and every year there are some lovely products…

I haven’t pulled together a gift guide since Christmas but they are quite fun posts to write. So, if you’re feeling a bit stuck with Father’s day looming next Sunday (19th June) then I hope you might find some inspiration here. Father’s Day gift guide We are a creative family so family celebrations always include a handmade element. This year the children made some lovely Father’s Day gifts, including decorated key rings from a Baker Ross craft kit and an air drying clay dish for loose change. I’m sure they’ll both be making Father’s Day cards at school but we…
