A friend told me about the William Morris Gallery and Lloyd Park in Walthamstow, not far from us. Perfect (i.e. dry) weather was forecast this morning so we headed there. The building was beautiful and behind was a hidden gem, a huge public park with formal gardens, a moat, children’s park, cafe and much more. First of all we let the children (and daddy) run around the park. They loved it, everything was new and shiny and they had fun on the slides, trampoline, swings, slide and sand pit. The shiny paths were perfect for scooting along and there was…

This morning we set off on an adventure into central London to meet Sportacus, the star of LazyTown. For nearly ten years superhero Sportacus has got the world’s children moving, dancing, singing and playing along with his colourful cartoon-come-to-life LazyTown. Now he’s back to inspire kids to feel good about doing healthy things in a brand new series of adventures as the much-awaited third series of LazyTown makes its debut on Cartoonito on Saturday April 6 at 9am, repeated at 4pm. Created by and starring Icelandic entrepreneur and athlete Magnús Scheving, LazyTown follows the adventures of super-fit superhero Sportacus, pink-haired…

We’ve been fortunate that our couple of days away coincided with blue skies and sunshine. At long last we were able to spend time outside and all feel much better for it. In the run up to Easter we did lots of Easter crafting. We made and decorated bunny biscuits, boiled eggs and tried out our new egg wraps, and also melted chocolate to make yummy chocolate lollies and eggs! Yesterday we treated ourselves to a delicious lunch at the Three Daggers in Edington and a walk around Edington Priory which was resplendent with flowers. We also did a lot…

Half term is a bit of a mixed blessing really. I love spending time with the toddler but it makes me realise how much I love those couple of hours he’s at his Montessori nursery! I’m trying to keep us busy so no-one gets bored and today we headed off to St Pancras to look at the trains. That might sound a little dull but for a train-mad toddler it’s heaven on earth. We bundled up in our warmest clothes and took the tube to Kings Cross/St Pancras. The toddler helped by running around and chasing pigeons, Little Sis just…

So far this year has been unusually busy. We’ve sold our house and bought a new one so fingers crossed everything will go smoothly and in a couple of months we’ll be happily installed in our new home. To celebrate finally having an offer accepted we decided to have a lovely family day today. The weather has been atrocious but we ventured out to do our weekly food shop at Tesco after treating the children to a couple of hours at our local soft play centre. At least when the weather is bad as it has been you don’t feel…

Disney Junior’s brand new original 3D animation for preschoolers “Henry Hugglemonster”, will premiere on the channel next week on 8th February. The series follows the adventures of fun-loving, five-year-old Henry Hugglemonster, the middle child in a happy, close-knit monster family – The Hugglemonsters of Roarsville. The series was developed from children’s book “I’m a Happy Hugglewug” by Children’s Laureate award-winner, Niamh Sharkey, published by Walker Books. We were lucky enough to meet Niamh Sharkey last week and have a personal reading and art masterclass with her and a couple of other lovely bloggers. My toddler absolutely adores “Henry Monster” as…

Even though we live in London it often doesn’t feel like we have time to enjoy it. So we were all very excited to find ourselves with a free day to do something last weekend. It was a balmy 2° and we headed south to Battersea Children’s Zoo in Battersea Park. To be honest we very rarely go south of the river but I had always wanted to visit Battersea Park and after 10 years of London living we finally got round to it. A (very cold) day out at Battersea Park Children’s Zoo We decided to use public transport…

A couple of weeks ago the children and I were invited along to the Rainforest Cafe to find out more about four new toys in the Elefun & Friends range aimed at preschoolers from Hasbro. The toddler had his face painted like a giraffe (his favourite animal) and they both had a lovely time, playing with the toys and making lots of new friends. The motorised Elefun blows colourful butterflies through his trunk and kids have to use their catching skills to grab them with a special butterfly net. The toddler absolutely adored this game and has been having lots of…

Fisher-Price kindly offered me a ticket to the Baby Show last month to check out their latest toys. We love the Baby Show so off we went and were not disappointed! Fisher-Price had a huge play area filled with toys which the toddler and his sister really enjoyed, as well as a huge display of baby equipment. In the play area there were lots of old favourites like the Laugh & Learn Puppy’s Piano, Brilliant Basis Chatter Telephone, Stand-Up Ballcano, Brilliant Basics Lil’ Snoopy, and Laugh & Learn Cookie Shape Surprise, as well as the recently launched Little People Wheelies Loops…
