I think one word can pretty much sum up our Christmas – food! After a lovely few days it’s quite nice to emerge out the other side from a family Christmas. We had a traditional family Christmas and the days passed in a blur of baking, crafting, eating, and playing with presents. I don’t think I’ve ever made so many Lego sets in 48 hours! As I said we’re always follow the same Christmas traditions. Every year we enjoy the same meals through Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. We even make the same snacks too, such as homemade…

There’s something about this time of year that makes me want to make good food for the family. Today I wanted to share my recipe for Sweet potato and tuna fish cakes. It’s a simple recipe, quick if you use left-overs (which I’m a big fan of doing) and a great use of store cupboard essentials, such as canned fish which is really convenient for family mealtimes. Ingredients to make Sweet potato and tuna fish cakes: 2 medium sweet potatoes peeled and cubed Princes tuna chunks in brine lemon juice black pepper vegetable oil Two slices of bread or breadcrumbs bunch…

I love to save money, by recycling and upcycling or scouring my local charity shops for a bargain. I like cooking for my family but sometimes I can be pretty thrifty in the kitchen too. Faced with leftovers from yesterdays’ delicious homemade curry, I thought I would use the leftover rice to make egg fried rice for today’s dinner. Ingredients needed to make egg fried rice: rice (1 day old works well with this recipe) spring onions 2 eggs peas oil soy sauce Add a dash of oil to a wok or saucepan, add your cooked rice, peas and chopped spring…

My children love to help in the kitchen so were very excited by a recent delivery. We were sent everything we needed to create Mini Pita Pizzas with Pick’n’Mix toppings and McCain French Fries. Yesterday I set to work in the kitchen, making a tasty tomato sauce which was smothered over a couple of grilled pita breads for the simplest mini pita pizzas. Then the children got to pick their toppings. They were offered a huge range from pineapple to mushrooms, mozzarella and pepperoni. They opted for ham! They only took about 20 minutes to prepare and were really fun…

It is a fun interactive app for children aged two and above to enjoy with the aim…

Eye-catching title huh? Today I need to share something with you. White bread is good for you. Fact. I think we’ve all got used to the argument that white bread is bad for you. I remember when I was at Uni a friend constantly sang “The whiter the bread, the quicker you’re dead” at me. That really stuck with me and I’ve been buying brown and wholemeal bread ever since. The odd loaf of white bread has snuck in, as we all know just how delicious it is toasted and dripping with butter. Today I was invited to the launch…

Despite being on maternity leave I’m sad that this year’s annual celebration of romance falls on a ‘school night’. We’ll be staying in, and after putting Little Man to bed, we’ll be cooking up a romantic storm in the kitchen. If you want to enjoy a bottle of bubbly this Valentine’s Day but still have a clear head for work the next day (like my husband) then why not try a bottle of Shloer? Shloer uses only the best ingredients to create its delicious non alcoholic sparkling drinks. Available in White Grape, Red Grape, Rosé, Apple and White Grape, White…
