We love learning about the wider world. My kids love to find out about other cultures and traditions and especially food! Monthly subscription boxes are a great way to learn a little about new products so we were delighted to be sent a Japan Candy Box to review at home. We’ve tried a few Japan Candy Boxes before, this is a delicious monthly subscription box filled with 8-10 sweet treats from Japan. I love kawaii – who doesn’t it? – and we all loved looking at each packet and trying to guess what was inside. Take a look at our video…

My children were both happy to go back to school today. Yesterday there were a few nerves but today they were both happy and relaxed, and there were no tears from me either! Although they are back at school I’m hoping we’ll have a warm September. I’m not quite ready to pack away all our Summer clothes. Over the summer I made quite a few iced teas. I find them lovely and refreshing and my children do too. They make a great alternative to fizzy drinks and you can make a batch and keep it in the fridge to last…

Yesterday was spent buying school shoes and this morning I was stitching on name labels. I even ordered the hot dinners for my daughter who is going into Year 1. I’m feeling pretty pleased with myself as I hate having to rush around and do everything last minute. Being prepared means we can spend the last few weeks of the holiday at the park with friends and crafting. My son is starting Year 3 and he’s been seriously excited about his stationery list! If you’re looking for some fun Back to School crafts then you may want to stock up…

Are you having a good summer so far? The weather has been a little underwhelming but it hasn’t stopped us from having some great family adventures. We’ve enjoyed loads of days out and had lots of picnics – sometimes sheltering from the rain in the car! Last week we were trying out Mr Kipling’s new limited edition summer range. We are huge fans of Mr Kipling’s so we love the fact all our favourites are there, especially the Mini Battenberg, and the packaging has a lovely summery make over. There are also four new limited edition flavours, such as Strawberry…

Last month the author Shirley Hughes turned 90 and happily shared her birthday month with one of her most treasured creations – public favourite, and retail bestseller, Dogger which celebrates it’s 40th anniversary. Dogger is a favourite picture book in our house. In case you haven’t read it, it features a boy and his stuffed dog, who is lost. I think this is every parents worse nightmare! Thankfully the boy’s sister has an opportunity to earn Dogger back and the story has a happy ending. Phew! To honour Shirley Hughes’s incredible talent and unwavering success over the past 90 years,…

Regular readers will know just how much we adore the world of Roald Dahl. My 7 year old has been working his way through his books so we were delighted to receive an invitation to afternoon tea at the Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden to hear more about the Splendiferous Summer With Mr Kipling. Roald Dahl Museum and Story Centre in Great Missenden We’ve visited the Roald Dahl Museum before. It’s a wonderful place and a really interactive day out for families and fans of Roald Dahl. The children loved the galleries where they could find out…
