    Orla Kiely for Uniqlo

Last week Kate Middleton was photographed wearing an Orla Kiely coat, which for a long time has been my favourite brand. My small collection is limited to handbags, bedding and stationery. However, an exciting partnership between Orla Kiely and Uniqlo might just make the brand more affordable for me and many others. Speaking about the collaboration, Uniqlo said the Irish born designer’s ‘distinctive graphic and stylized motifs with their clean repeat constructions achieve a very modern style whilst her love for all things mid century adds a nostalgic quality.’ Teen blogger Tavi Gevinson and the singer, Cyndi Lauper star in…

Win a £30 Zalando fashion voucher

You may remember that last year I was lucky enough to try out Zalando, a new online clothing store for men, women and children featuring well-known brands, for myself. If you fancy trying it out – read on! Zalando online shop is perfect for browsing when you have 5 minutes to yourself, especially when you can’t face getting to the shops through the snow! Post-pregnancy my figure is slowly coming back so I’m on the lookout for a whole new wardrobe. There’s a great choice of women’s clothing and there are a few coats I really like, such as this…

    A pink explosion

I’m the first to admit I have no fashion sense at all and dress for comfort rather than anything else. I like to look nice but dread having to go shopping for a special outfit for a wedding or party. Having a boy has been great as he is so easy to buy clothes for. He looks lovely in anything and all colours and will even wear the odd item of clothing I’ve customised for him. When Little Sis came along pink exploded into our lives. I’ve never opened so many parcels of pink in the weeks since she was…

    Oh Baby London

Edward was asked if he would like to try something from Oh Baby London. The company is an independent baby and children’s wear brand created in Brick Lane, London in 2002. What started as an allergic reaction to pastels by founder, designer and mum of two Hannah McHalick has grown to a full collection of cool but cute fashion for kids and the coolest kids products. Eccentric, bold design and irreverent truths like ‘Been Inside For 9 Months’ are the essence of Oh Baby London. Edward was sent the gold bow tie t-shirt which is perfect for all those Christmas…

    (CLOSED) Ellos and giveaway

*****the competition has now closed and the winner notified***** Edward was asked if he would like to try some clothes from Ellos, a new retailer in the UK. They’re a Scandinavian brand who are as big as Very.co.uk and Asos in Scandinavia. He was sent some lovely new tshirts and a 2 piece outfit featuring Snoopy. He has worn the dinosaur tshirts a couple of times and they fit really well and, more importantly, wash well. He’s also worn the Snoopy outfit as pyjamas as they are lovely and warm and he has a habit of throwing his duvet off…

    Bumpwatch – 29 weeks

Hello Third Trimester! I’ve been so busy my feet are barely touching the ground lately! Last week I had a Glucose Challenge Test (which is part of the screening for gestational diabetes) and an extra scan. I’m not too sure what the scan was meant to be checking but everything seemed to be fine. I had an appointment with a consultant today (only my third appointment this pregnancy) and am booked in for another appointment at 36 weeks. I know I’m happy and healthy but I do find it strange I’m 7 months pregnant and have only had three appointments,…

    Fashion shame

As much as I love looking through old photographs I really didn’t want to look back at ones of myself! I was born in 1977  so pretty much all the photos of me from when I was born until I left home for Uni show fashion disasters. Unlike my older sister I never cared about fashion. I’d rather be comfortable and I always seem to have bought the latest fashion item when I could afford it i.e. after it stopped being fashionable. My first fashion disaster shows me in costume – note – not my real clothes! I’m a huge…

    Monthly Make – April

Longer, warmer days make me want to get on with my long list of sewing projects. This month I’ve made a cute tshirt for Edward from a paper doll set which I picked up at the Spring Country Living Fair. Do you remember the paper dolls you had as a child? The clothes never seemed to fit or stay on my paper dolls which is why I was happy to see one which could be used as appliques with a bit of help from bondaweb. I ironed the little boy onto the front of a plain white tshirt and put…

Cath Kidston and Uniqlo Charity Project

I’m sure you know I’m a huge fan of Cath Kidston. Only today I stopped off to buy a lovely business card holder for my new Moo business cards at the Cath Kidston on Marylebone High Street. Today was a bit of a shopping marathon and, whilst browsing in Uniqlo in Westfield, I spotted some very familiar prints. Cath Kidston has teamed up with Uniqlo to produce a range of tshirts using some of her most popular prints. Many of the tshirts are already sold out but I snapped up two as they are currently on offer at 2 for…
