As much as I love my iPhone I also love being able to pimp the outisde. I’ve gone through a fair few since I bought my first iPhone in 2007, although always stuck with either Cath Kidston or recently, Orla Kiely, covers. Remember the luscious lacquered shell which didn’t last long as I upgraded and it didn’t fit the later iPhone model. Or the less successful oilcloth cover which I used for a matter of hours before I got fed up of having to pull a chord to access my phone. How about the lovely London cover? I used this…

Edward’s bedtime routine is pj’s, bottle and climbing the stairs to his bedroom. In his bedroom he has a cuddle with both of us and we give him his dummy and a little noo noo (made from an old muslin) to take to bed. I’m not sure how it started but we’ve done this for months and it’s very cute to see. For a long time Edward has put the muslin under his chin and cuddled up with it in his cot and lately I’ve been thinking he’s ready for a pillow to lie on. I picked up a lovely…

My latest favourite craft is cross stitch. I’ve been working my way through my copy of Cath Kidston Stitch which is full of projects which can be made using needlepoint or cross stitch. This pattern turned our bigger than it was supposed to but I’m enjoying the challenge of trying something new. It’s a great excuse to visit more craft shops too! Linking up with Handmade Thursday

I have a favourite shop in Totnes, Devon, which is stuffed full of vintage treasures. On our last visit I picked up a lovely vintage Star Yachts boat. Only the wooden hull remained, the sails, wooden masts and fittings were gone. Vintage wooden boat Star Yachts was founded just after the First World War by Franz Marie Denye, a Belgian refugee who had fled Belgium at the beginning of the war. Originally a builder of full size ships, he decided that models would provide a livelihood for him and his family. The works site was compulsorily purchased to clear the…

With all the beautiful weather we’ve had lately we’d been on a few picnics. Fortunately we always take a cool bag on holiday and Edward has his own cool bag too. However, Cath Kidston have produced a new flat pack hamper box which I must get hold of for our next outing. This pretty flat pack hamper box is ideal for take-away dining and the best news is there’s no washing up! The set contains four paper plates; four wooden knives, forks and spoons; two large laminated food boxes; two medium laminated food boxes; four paper napkins and four salt…

I don’t know what’s come over me but I can’t stop hunting out souvenirs of the forthcoming Royal wedding. I blame my grandmother who was a fervent fan of the Royal family and kept scrapbooks of Princess Di! Royal Wedding souvenirs I’ve picked up some great souvenirs including a Royal Wedding keyring from Cath Kidston: I was fortunate to win a limited edition ‘I do’ tea towel by Maria Holmer Dahlgren: I purchased some fabric called Royal Wedding in John Lewis. I’m debating what to make with it as the washing instructions say handwash only. On a recent trip to…

I’m sure you know I’m a huge fan of Cath Kidston. Only today I stopped off to buy a lovely business card holder for my new Moo business cards at the Cath Kidston on Marylebone High Street. Today was a bit of a shopping marathon and, whilst browsing in Uniqlo in Westfield, I spotted some very familiar prints. Cath Kidston has teamed up with Uniqlo to produce a range of tshirts using some of her most popular prints. Many of the tshirts are already sold out but I snapped up two as they are currently on offer at 2 for…

It’s time to write an update on my Day Zero progress. 7. Decide whether to return to work or not Well first I decided to return, then I changed my mind. You can read the whole sorry story. 38. Do at least one geocache a month We’ve been having loads of fun out and about now the weather is getting warmer. We found a couple in Bruges as well as London and Essex. 59. Successfully grow herbs We’re also spending more time in the garden and the herbs I planted last year are well established and living!…

I recently won a fabulous Orla Kiely lampshade from The Old Lamp Shed. I was able to pick the design I wanted and went for cars – perfect for Edward’s room. When we were expecting we painted the nursery a neutral colour but now Edward’s coming up to his first birthday we’re trying to give the room a more boyish feel. My photograph doesn’t do it justice as the lampshade is large, fabulous and a really vibrant orange. When we showed Edward the lampshade in his room he had a huge smile on his face so I think he’s…
