    Operation back to work

Today is the culmination of operation back to work. This afternoon I have a meeting with my manager to discuss my proposal for flexible working and I’m scared! A few weeks ago I prepared a document detailing how I could squeeze my full-time job into a three day week. I’ve been trying to anticipate the questions I’ll be asked but I’m so out of practice that my mind wanders off on other topics, such as the food order I really need to place, birthday cards to post and Edward’s first birthday celebrations. Since submitting my proposal I’ve got a sexy…

    24 hours in our world

I’ve tried to take a photo of Edward every day since he was born and publish my favourite on my baby blog. When I heard this week’s Gallery theme I thought about leaving the camera next to my bed so I could photograph everything we did from the moment we woke up. Then I realised that I take so many photographs I could almost pick any 24 hour period to show. Yesterday was a great day, the sun shone, we visited our favourite farm and saw lots of family, so have a look at our 24 hours: 1. breakfast time,…

    Ella’s Kitchen tasty new products

Did you know that Ella’s Kitchen food is healthy 100% organic goodness with absolutely nothing else added – NO added sugar or salt, NO additives, NO hydrogenated fat, NO GM and nothing artificial. At 10 months old Edward loves exploring new textures and tastes so I was happy to let him try the new Baby brekkie extension (from 6 months): Blueberries and pears. It’s packed with natural goodness to help give little ones a nutritional boost in the morning. Edward loved the flavours 🙂 It looked and smelled great too. We found it a bit runny but added it to…

    Operation baby towel

Have you heard of Cuddledry? It was set up in 2007 by two mums – Helen and Polly – after much faffing about cutting up sheets and playing with pretend babies. Helen and Polly went on Dragons’ Den, were offered money, but turned it down. Since then, they have done a fantastic job of building the company up from scratch, and are now a small team of women, all working from home flexibly round their families. The brand has grown from their fantastic towels (we have one!) to bathrobes, poncho towels and very cool looking bath mats. Cuddledry are up…

    The Gallery: children

When Tara posted the theme of children for this weeks gallery I was so excited.  It might be a bit cheesy but I love the fact I’ve created a little being and love to see my own face in his. Looking back through old photograph albums shows expressions in his face which mirror my own in so many ways so I thought I would show photographs of the two of us:   Spoons are so good for teething gums 🙂   Now go and check out the other entries!

Toys for a 10 month old

Edward is growing up so fast! When he was about 5 months old I started looking for toys he could smart play with and VTech was recommended to us. A friend used the First Steps Baby Walker with her children and they loved it so I bought one. From the moment it came out of the box my son loved it.   It was easy to assemble and the detachable learning centre means it can be used whilst sitting. The toy really grows with the needs of the child and encourages learning through a variety of activities. Edward has learned…

    Seaborne Baby Sponge

Tippitoes has introduced an exciting addition to its bathroom range, the natural Seaborne Baby Sponge which is 100% natural and extracted from the sea bed. Thanks to its natural porous properties, it’s perfect for gently exfoliating and cleansing baby’s skin. We were sent a Seaborne Baby Sponge to try and I was surprised to find that it came in a plastic tub – I’ve never bought a sponge in a container before! I rinsed the sponge before use as instructed and we used it at bath time this evening. Edward wasn’t too sure what to make of the sponge as…

Little Man was recently sent some delicious products from Ella’s Kitchen to try. We’re a big fan of organic food and Ella’s Kitchen makes 100% organic foods as certified by the Soil Association. The products have nothing else added, no sugar or salt, no additives, no hydrogenated fat, no GM and nothing artificial. We tried a selection of Stage 2 baby food – including Edward’s favourite, chicken casserole with rice (the others didn’t last long enough for me to remember their names) Cooking sauces – the Italian One and the Indian One Baby Brekki – banana, mango, raisin ‘n’ prune…
