I love a little embroidery kit and was so happy to see that the latest issue of my monthly magazine included a Cotton Clara stitch kit – Bunny kit from love embroidery magazine. The mini wooden bunny hoop kit was designed by Cotton Clara, I love her stuff!
Bunny kit from Love Embroidery magazine
The mini kit included a sweet mini wooden bunny frame, pink fabric, and three threads. You need to provide a basic sewing kit such as a needle and scissors.
A bunny face is included in the template section at the back of the magazine, but you can also head to their website to find a few different faces. I opted for a different face so transferred this to my fabric, holding the fabric against the window and copying the face onto my fabric with a pencil.
Then I was able to start stitching. I used black thread for the eyes and mouth, pink for the nose and white for the cheeks.
There is only a tiny amount of stitching so this didn’t take long. Then I cut a larger circle around my embroidery, gathering it behind the wooden back plate.
Finally, I added a few dots of glue to hold the wooden frame in place, and added a little loop of thread to hang it. It’s too early to think about decorating for Easter but I’m happy to have a new little handmade item to display.
