What’s your post-pregnancy body like or is that question too personal? It can’t be as bad as mine, and coupled with the festive season I really need to diet! Fortunately for me a DVD landed on my doorstep just after New Year which might just have the answer. Unlike the usual celebrity-endorsed fitness DVDs, The Y Plan Body Confidence has been produced by health and fitness professional at the London YMCA Fitness Industry Training team.
Body Confidence for mums
The DVD consists of 6 ten minute work-outs, (including aerobics, body-sculpt, dance, cardio-kick, Pilates and toning), which will help shape-up, tone and improve your fitness. Warm up and cool down elements are included, which means you can squeeze a quick workout into your busy schedule, or opt for a combination of the routines for an all-body work out.
Each routine is presented by a YMCA fitness expert in that field, who offers tips on technique, and each routine features regular members of the YMCAfit classes, who demonstrate beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.
It’s too early to say if the DVD is working for me but it is fun to do and the 10 minute workouts mean you can fit in some exercise between nap time! I would recommend this for busy mums who want to try something different. The exercises are simple to follow if, like me, you don’t have any previous experience.
The Y Plan Body Confidence DVD is available to buy from their website.
If you are looking for other ways to boost your confidence then you need to know exactly what you want to work on. While this could be your body, it could also be your teeth or your hair. If you have noticed thinning hair since welcoming your children then you’re not alone. Many postpartum mums struggle with their hair after giving birth. While some regain their confidence with these issues, others will be on the lookout for strategies to manage this. One way you can improve the appearance of your hair is by having a hair transplant, there are many clinics offering this service.
A copy of the DVD was given to me for the purpose of review.

January 14, 2011 at 10:14 pmI’m going to have to check that out. Good Lord, you should see the state of me after my third child. I have to lift and tuck my belly in just to fit into my jeans. Ridiculous!
Visiting here from Mummy’s Little Monkey and I’m so glad I did!
