I’m quite pleased we seem to be surviving the school holidays <touch wood>. The weather hasn’t been too bad and we’ve had lots to do. We had a great Day out with Thomas, the Christening, trip to Legoland and I’m trying to keep the toddler busy with some structured activities and lots of free time to play. As well as our usual baking, crafts and trips to the local park, he’s spent hours playing with trains, Lego, the sand pit and water table.
We’ve signed up to some music classes which start next week. It’s an activity which both children can enjoy so I’m really hoping they do. I’m always worrying that only one is happy as it’s difficult to make sure they’re both busy and happy at the same time. Fortunately they seem to enjoy playing with the same toys, who would have thought a 7 month old would be ready for Lego, or a toddler would like to stack rings?! This will be the first activity for Little Sis but I think she’s the perfect age to start appreciating music, anything has to be better than me singing nursery rhymes to her 🙂
We’ve also got our day out at the Olympics which we’re all looking forward to, as well as a couple of trips to see family and friends. Nanny is looking after Little Sis as I really couldn’t imagine carrying her in a sling. I’ve also found out there is a buggy park so at least the toddler will be able to have a rest if he needs too.
Before you know it we’ll be getting ready for the toddler to go back to school. Although he won’t be needing school uniform just yet I will have to buy him some new clothes as he’s having a growth spurt. I don’t even want to think about him being in a uniform after all the struggles my mum had with my sister who used to customise hers. She would leave the house looking respectable and change at the end of the road, which fooled my parents for years until I told them! Happy times.
