Starting my week with The Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.
The Weekly Edit {Week 40/2026}
Is it too early to start talking about Christmas? Christmas makes me really anxious so I decided to start my Christmas shopping in the hope of mitigating some of these feelings. I think I bought two small things, but it’s a start. I need to sort out a hiding place so the teens don’t sniff out their presents.
I’ve been preparing some felt for a Halloween themed make, finished a Cute & Cosy Sticker Room book, and painted a wooden pumpkin stand kit from The Works. So happy to be crafting again.
After deciding to pack away a puzzle that I wasn’t enjoying, I started and finished a Happily jigsaw puzzle called Shops. The puzzle features eight colourful shops and everyone got involved with it and we completed it in days.
My youngest teen went on a night hike with Scouts. She said it was cold sleeping in a tent but it’s October, time for the cooler weather to arrive. She had a lot of fun and was able to take part in rifle shooting and archery too.
Whilst she was away we took the other teen to watch Digger at the cinema. We all loved the film, it’s really fun and thought provoking and I would recommend watching it to see Tom Cruise playing a totally different character than he usually does.
