Five Happy Things {Week 39/2025}

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the little or big things that made me smile in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures.

My daughter and I spotted a ceramic pumpkin workshop at Wick and Ceramic in Ickenham (where we made little Jellycats earlier this year). We went along and learned how to make pumpkins and used special ceramic glaze paints to decorate them. We are waiting for them to be fired before we go and pick them up. They will make lovely decorations for Halloween.

We used our 3D printer to make an extra large Lego wreath for our door this Halloween. We love to add new decorations each year. The Lego wreath is printed using green filament, so we will be able to change the decorations whenever we like.

Can you believe we celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary this weekend? We went for a meal in a local independent restaurant to celebrate.

I spotted the Tesco Spider Web Cookie Cauldron Kit in my local shop so picked one up for my daughter to make. She had so much fun with it. The cookie mix was baked in a muffin tin so they made little bucket shapes, which were then filled with green salted caramel sauce and melted marshmallow spider webs. She added some Halloween shaped sweets, as well as making little spiders with the black icing. They tasted really good.

I started stitching the Christmas Countdown from my Pretty Fabrics and Trims Advent Box (the 2024 box). I’m giving myself weeks to stitch it and I’ve already stitched three of the little countdown boxes, it will make a great piece to display once it’s finished. It seems to be mixing Halloween and Christmas, should it be Hallowmas or Christoween?

What’s made you happy this week?
