Five Happy Things {Week 25/2025}

Posted on June 22, 2025June 25, 2025 by jenny

Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me smile in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures.

Five Happy Things {Week 25/2025}

We had a mini heatwave in the UK last week which made for a hot and sticky week. It was almost too hot to do anything except work and sleep, so it doesn’t feel like I achieved much except getting through each very hot day.

I’ve been reading The Seeker of Lost Paintings by Sarah Freethy. It ‘s an historical novel about love and art spanning Geneva, Rome and London. It’s a real page-turner and I can’t wait to go to bed and read a chapter every evening.

I’ve been trying to sew the dragonfly embroidery from an old sub box kit but the weather has been too hot to concentrate. It’s been sitting on my table all week and I’ve felt bad about not picking it up. Perhaps that’s a sign that I should try something else.

My little pup got a smart new hair cut. Not only was he looking scruffy but he was also hot. He enjoyed lots of chicken flavoured ice cubes all week 🙂

We’ve been planning our summer holidays which reminded me of previous holidays. I decided to make photo books of some of our European holidays and have made one for our trip to the Netherlands in 2019 as well as our trip to Normandy last summer. I make them myself on Snapfish, but it’s quite fun to look back through the photos, and make a little keepsake book.

What made you happy last week?

    Your dog is so cute. Reminds me so much of my childhood dog. Looks so much like him. Even the haircut is similar.

    Your pooch is so adorable. I always love it when you include photos. That haircut is nice!

    We just got our dog groomed, too. He got pretty well shaved because he was so matted. He’s still cute, though.

    The heat was horrible last week and going to start again Monday is meant to be in the 30’s. We had a quiet week last week which we needed

    I love making photo books from trips, definitely something I want to do more of over time. The heat has been tough, I was in hospital for two nights after my C section when it started and my god it was so hot x

    It has been a really, really hot week! I have purchased a new air con unit, as I was melting. The dragon fly does sound really fantastic!

    Awww. Your little pup is so adorable. My furbaby is also my constant source of happiness. Anyway, will try to make those chicken-flavored ice cubes you mentioned.
