Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for the last few years. It’s my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.
Five Happy Things {Week 514}
Over the weekend we made a trip to Haynes Motor Museum. We’ve been a few times but the kids always love seeing the different cars on display and they usually have some fun extra activities during the school holidays. This visit there was a special trail to follow as well as a scalextric set to play on.
I’ve been stitching lots of blocks for my Liberty Tumbling Blocks cushion. I chose a huge cushion pad so I need loads of blocks. They are fun to make up as I’m using diamond blocks. So I’ve been cutting through my stash of Liberty Tana Lawn, cutting red, black and white blocks, then stitching them into the Tumbling Blocks.
We took the kids to the go karting track at Haynes. Again this was an activity we had done before but one they enjoyed. They got all kitted up and had lots of laps on the Test Circuit, the very same one that Jenson Button practised on.
As we love board games I booked a few hours at The Board House board game cafe in Crewkerne. It’s always good fun to play some games and we managed four in 2 hours! We tried Santorini, The Fuzzies, Karen and What Came First? I think Santorini was my favourite although I can’t buy it as we have so many at home!
I don’t feel as if I’ve had a very creative summer. I have a pile of projects I want to make but have been too busy and away from home over the school holidays. Although I haven’t made my last subscription box (which was a punch needle kit), the next one came and this is an embroidery box. I like the pattern and colours so I might try and make this summery embroidery before summer is over.
What has been making you happy this week?

September 3, 2024 at 8:06 amSounds like your children got up to a lot this week! We were going to do go-karts but our youngest wasn’t tall enough this summer.
