Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while over the last few years. It is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of the adventures we have as a family.
Five Happy Things {Week 489}
I’ve been doing a lot of family history recently, saving all my docs from Ancestry and attending an online weekly class which is really helping my research skills.
Yesterday I picked up one of the new Lego Animal Crossing sets from my local toy shop. I chose Bunnie’s Outdoor Activities set as it seemed the sweetest set with a couple of islands that you can configure in different ways, a tent and one Animal Crossing character. I’ve been playing Animal Crossing Pocket Camp for a few years now. I wish the Lego sets were based more on Pocket Camp than the New Horizons Switch game, but they are still cute.
I finished Miss Austen by Gill Hornby which I really enjoyed as I’m a huge fan of Jane Austen and this was a great book from the view point of her sister, Cassandra. I’ve started reading High Wages by Dorothy Whipple which I picked up at Persephone Books in Bath last week.
I’ve started on a pretty embroidery hoop from the Spring 2023 Craftpod subscription box. It features a magnolia flower and it fun to stitch. Our own magnolia is beginning to come back to life so I’m hoping I will be able to finish embroidering this hoop before it is in full bloom later this month.
We celebrated my husbands’ birthday last week so we enjoyed a delicious chocolate cake as well as a fab meal out with friends at the St John’s Tavern in London.
Have a great week all!
