Crafts to celebrate Red Nose Day

Crafts to celebrate Red Nose Day

Posted on March 8, 2023May 2, 2025 by jenny

Are you doing anything to celebrate Red Nose Day which takes place next week? What is Red Nose Day? It’s an annual fundraising campaign created by Comic Relief to end child poverty throughout the world. The organisation funds programs which help keep children safe and healthy while providing them with support and education. The First Red Nose Day was held on Friday 5th February 1988 and every year people raise huge amounts for charity.

How to celebrate Red Nose Day

This year my children will be wearing red clothes to school, in exchange for a donation to Children In Need. This is always fun for them (although a little tricky to find red clothes for them so I end up searching for red image inspo!). There are lots of other ways to celebrate Red Nose Day here in the UK, including watching the three-hour fundraising tv special which is broadcast LIVE from its home at Media City UK, Salford, on Friday 17th March from 7pm on BBC One and iPlayer.

Emma, Oti and Rylan’s Big Red Nose Day Challenge reveals every step and struggle of Emma Willis, Oti Mabuse and Rylan’s turbulent trek to the top of Cairn Gorm Mountain. The challenge will air on BBC One and iPlayer on Tuesday 14 March at 9pm.

This Red Nose Day, BBC’s Morning Live host, Gethin Jones will be attempting to dance non-stop for 24 hours. The challenge will air on BBC Morning Live on the morning of 16th March and will end on March 17th, Red Nose Day.

Of course there will be many local events you can get involved with. You can register for a free fundraising pack on the Comic Relief website and, of course, buy a Red Nose or a specially designed t-shirt from TK Maxx, Homesense, Amazon and Homebase.

If you’re looking for others ways to celebrate Red Nose Day then why not try one of these fun recipes?

You could also have a go at making your own Red Nose. We made ours by cutting out an egg box, painting it red, and tying a length of elastic on each side!

If you already have a collection of Red Noses from previous years, then why not make a game with them? Play & Learn Every Day have lots of ideas in this post.
