Among Us Hama bead crewmates

Among Us Hama bead crewmates

Posted on February 20, 2021February 21, 2021 by jenny

We’ve had lots of fun crafting over half term. The weather has been pretty poor so we’ve stayed in a lot. We are lucky to have plenty of crafts and toys to occupy us. We have a large box of hama beads which we got out one day. We’ve had the box for years but the contents never seen to go down.

Just in case you haven’t heard of the hit game set in space, you play as either Crewmates or an Impostor. Crewmates try to identify the Impostors, eliminate them, and complete tasks around the map; the Impostors’ goal is to covertly sabotage and kill the Crewmates before they complete all of their tasks.

My children just love playing Among Us. It’s easy to play online and they have so much fun together playing it. We’ve already made a few Among Us crafts, such as our Among Us painted rocks and felt Among Us Crewmates. The outline of Crewmates is really simple so I set my children up with a few hama bead base plates and a large box of hama beads and let them experiment.

First they made the Among Us Crewmate outline with black hama beads.

They made sure to include backpacks and visors. Then they filled in the body, adding detail in the visor and glint. This craft kept them busy for ages and they had fun choosing colours and discussing what to make. They made all sorts of colourful Crewmates, then started on other Among Us characters.

It was a great activity for their fine motor skills too. Hama beads are so small but they didn’t have any problems picking out the colours they wanted to use.

The best thing about Hama beads is that they are quick to make and quick to iron. I waited until the children had made a whole stack of Among Us characters, then sat down and ironed them all.

They even created their own little hama bead stands so their Crewmates could stand up! This was a fun Among Us craft for kids and gave them a welcome break from their online games. I can’t wait to see what they create next.

What a lovely idea for a craft project for children. I had never heard of Among Us, but it sounds like a fun game. And those model Crewmates made with beads are delightful!

I have no idea what among us is, but I keep seeing it everywhere. Such a nice little project to do with the kids x

I really like the stands they created. Those are some creative kids you have there.
