Monday Happy List

Monday Happy List {Week 325}

January stitched calendar

Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List  is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Our New Year was very quiet but I am looking forward to everything that 2021 has to offer.

Monday Happy List {Week 325}

Did you have snow last week? We had the smallest scattering of snow in London. My children were so excited that they rushed outside to play in it but it sadly didn’t settle. We found lots of frozen puddles when we went out for a walk which our pup just loved playing on.

I finished my 2020 Goodreads Challenge where I had challenge myself to read 35 books. It was a fun challenge but I didn’t think I was going to reach my target. I include books I read with my children but even that didn’t help. Thankfully I had some time to read over the holiday so just managed to finish on the last day! I’ve set myself a slightly smaller challenge for 2021 of reading 30 books.

We’ve hardly been out during the holidays but we did make it to see the Christmas lights at Wembley Park one evening. All the shops were closed at London Designer Outlet but it was still fun to walk around and see the different installations, including London’s tallest LED Christmas tree. We loved ‘Star Box’, a giant gift-box shaped cube, filled with glowing golden lights and shimmering sequins situated on Zig-a-zag Allee; Bauble, an enormous illuminated Christmas bauble you could step inside on Weaver Walk; and Angel Wings, outside the new Wembley Mark Market Emporium, on Market Square. The lights installation was open from the end of November until yesterday and were well worth a trip.

Ticket to Ride: Stay At Home

I don’t know why it took us so long to discover Ticket to Ride: Stay At Home a free print and play expansion. We are huge fans of Ticket To Ride (both the board game and the PlayStation version) so couldn’t wait to print it out and play. Ticket to Ride: Stay at Home is an expansion for 2 to 4 players and requires a copy of Ticket to Ride, Ticket to Ride: Europe or Ticket to Ride: Germany to play. It takes 20 to 40 minutes to play. In this version, you take the role of one of the four family members who compete and sometimes collaborate to complete their daily tasks in their home. All you will need is a pair of scissors, some tape and a copy of the Ticket to Ride base game. You can download the game here: https://print-and-play.asmodee.fun/ticket-to-ride

We are going to enjoy our last day of the holidays before our home learning starts tomorrrow!

    Oh I love the idea of a happy list! I’d be happy to read that many books, I love reading but never have the time. You’ve inspired me to pick up my book tonight!

    This is one of my favourite posts of the week, I love reading your happy list, we had no snow where we are just very cold frost which made the ground very white

    Most of the country had snow, we just had rain and more rain in Oxford but still, it was nice for a change to be outside.

    I’m jealous of you having snow, there was none where I live in South Wales. The Christmas lights in Wembley Park sounds lovely too

    We had quite a bit of snow here, infact it snowed off and on for 3 days. Our roads are still icy and kids did have a fabulous time having snow fights. You are lucky you had some snow, a friend from East London said she had none
