Monday Happy List {Week 316}

Posted on November 2, 2020 by jenny

I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I love to write.

Monday Happy List {Week 316}

We had a really lovely half term. My husband took the week off and we managed to visit my mum, stay in a hotel, eat out, carve pumpkins and do all kinds of fun things together. The kids spent a day at the Iver Environment Centre which they really enjoyed and we re-visited Cliveden which is one of our favourite National Trust gardens. We took our puppy and he had such an amazing walk (and then slept all day!).

I love using Pinterest and of course saving my own content and I had a few Halloween Pins go viral over the last month. Last month I had 1.3 million monthly viewers with 2.1 million impressions which is just crazy for me. Sadly it doesn’t really translate into anything and I won’t be giving up my day job. My top 2 Pins were both Halloween crafts for kids, but some Minecraft wall art and my Pumpkin Patch Scavenger Hunt were also popular. I love that my craft content is used by so many people.

Last week I applied for a secondary school place for my son which felt like a huge step. We were really fortunate to have done our secondary school visits when he was in Year 5 and we had 3 outstanding schools to choose from. He based his choice on the subjects he wants to pick for GCSE and I think he will be really happy there. It just seems like he’s growing up so fast, I’m not sure I’m ready for a son in secondary school.

celebrating Halloween with Haribo

We enjoyed celebrating Halloween even though it was different to what we normally do. Thankfully we had lots of pumpkins, decorated the house and had lots of Halloween treats. Instead of going Trick or Treating we went out in the car looking for decorated houses! Our little town had a map of decorated houses so every time the children spotted one they got a treat. They enjoyed it and we actually went out on two nights as there were so many decorated houses.

I finally have my own work space so have been tidying up and putting all my craft supplies in one place. I’m actually quite looking forward to packing Halloween away so I can get started on some Christmas crafting. I’ve been working through the sewing projects in my Autumn Craftpod box but am excited for more crafting this month.

Have a great week everyone.

    It sounds like a great week for you all. I remember filling out the dreaded high school form! It’s scary but my son just loves it. It’s such a big year for them x

    I hope applying for secondary school places goes OK! It is so strange how Pinterest works – the impressions can mean absolutely nothing.

    It sounds like you did well on pinterest. I’ve no idea how much impact I’m making on there. We applied for secondary schools too. Hope you get the one you want x

    What a lovely week you all have had, looks like you packed it a lot of fun activities as well. It is amazing how your pins went viral! I am sure they would have helped so many mums out there with their Halloween craft activity

    You are so lucky to have three outstanding schools locally, we only have one and had to fight tooth and nail to get Isaac in. Sounds like you had a lovely week

    Glad you had a good half term and have got your own work space! Talking about school places, I had to apply for Olivia’s Reception place this week – eek!

    it’s very nice that you managed to go on a getaway in nature, before the lockdown is starting again. I’ve started to do more walks around nature as well, and it feels so nice, makes you stop over thinking and worrying.
