Monday Happy List

Monday Happy List {Week 312}

Ben10 Power Trip Twitter Party

I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I love to write. The weather this weekend was terrible thanks to Storm Alex. All our weekend plans were cancelled, including our trip to The Pop up Farm Pumpkin Patch – hopefully we can book again for another day.

Monday Happy List {Week 312}

First of all I need to tell you that this Friday (9th October) I’m taking part in a Ben10 Power Trip Twitter Party. I love a Twitter Party and we’ll be celebrating all things Ben10 because of the brand new #Ben10PowerTrip video game. I’m working with Outright Games and UKMumsTV so make sure you’re following me @gingerbread_mum, @Outright_Games and @UKMumstv to find out more about Ben10 Power Trip and take part in the Twitter Party this Friday between 1-3pm.

I started the week off with a shopping trip. Despite living close to Watford we hadn’t ventured in for months so we decided to go whilst the children were at school. It was a really strange experience and such a shame to see some shops closed down, including John Lewis. I stocked up on Halloween treats for the kids and finished off some Christmas shopping (I always like to do mine in September!).

Last week my son moved up to Scouts. His Cubs group hasn’t met face to face for over 6 months but he was old enough to move up. All meetings are outside so I’m not sure how much he’ll enjoy it but he’s going to try it out for a few weeks.

We love crafting all year round but Halloween lends itself perfectly to some seasonal crafting. We really loved making our melted pony bead pumpkin sun catchers and easy Halloween bookmarks. We have a few more Halloween crafts to share this month which I’m looking forward to sharing although I’m not sure the pumpkins we covered with melted wax crayons today will make it to a blog post!

Ruislip Foodies Market

Despite the horrible weather we had to get out of the house yesterday. Luckily our local Farmers Market was on yesterday so we all put on our raincoats and wellies for a wander round it. The pup loved all the different food stalls! I’m so glad we went as we stocked up on some delicious, locally produced food. I was hoping to sit down and watch a film with the kids in the afternoon but we put our Halloween decorations up to cheer us all up.

Have a great week everyone.

    I wish we’d gone out yesterday but it’s looking like next weekend might be quite nice so we will venture out then instead!

    Enjoy your twitter party x

    I love farmers markets and usually spend far too much at them, although not been to one for a long time now. The weather has been horrible lately x

    I do love a good farmer’s market! Not too sure the Christmas Markets will be on this year, which is a shame as they have the most awesome food! Sim

    I haven’t been to a farmer’s market in ages, hopefully next year we’ll have some open in the area. My Mom also does her Christmas shopping early, she usually starts in January.

    It’s nice getting out and going to Farmers Markets isn’t it? You can pick up some great food there and Christmas gifts

    It’s a great idea to take the time to remember all that you have to be thankful for at the start of the week 🙂

    September seems a little early to do Christmas Shopping for where we live as most of the Christmas markets only start selling around November. So looks like you are well planned for the year.

    I will definitely try to attend the Twitter party. It’s a shame John Lewis in Watford has shut down as we used to love visiting there. Jack is now back at Cubs and quite enjoying it, despite how strange it is.

    You were in my old hometown (Watford) last week, it is sad that some shops have closed, but a lot are getting filled again. Debenhams has already reopened as Next home and beauty. And Joules is opening, and I think an Ikea is going into John Lewis so not all bad news x

    I really love this time of year though the weather has changed very abruptly it seems. It’s a shame so many shops are closing, I was shocked when I last went into to out local town centre.

    I’ve not been to a Farmer’s market in ages. I mus see if my local one is on. It’s fun to see all the different foods and discover some new things too.

    It’s lovely to get out every so often. Sometimes I begrudge going out in the rain, but I’m thankful that we have a dog so we have to leave the house once a day. That farmers market looks great! I’m glad things like that are starting up again.
