I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s usually a post I love to write but obviously life has changed considerably for us and everyone else in the UK over the last few months. With lockdown easing in the UK our life hasn’t changed much at all. The weeks are looooong but we do manage to squeeze in a lot of living, even if it is in our very small bubble.
Monday Happy List {Week 297}
Last week felt long although looking back through my photos we were quite busy and fitted a lot in. We did a lot of geocaching, and went a little further from home, including Pinner Memorial Park. To celebrate Father’s Day we had a delicious geocaching themed cake with hidden treasure inside (mini toblerone bars!).
The children are really enjoying their weekly Cubs meetings via Zoom. This week they made arm pit fudge during the meeting which turned out pretty well. They were also challenged to make their own NHS rainbow rocks, which we made and added to our local rock snake. Have you heard of these? They are snakes made from painted rocks and there is one in our local park.
Our puppy turned 31 weeks. He’s been a bit naughty again, even though we’ve taken him on lots of walks and done more training. I’m hoping it’s just a phase and he’ll grow out of it soon.
I found some time to craft, making fabric face masks, which weren’t too hard to make. I even finished stitching my #sewalittlehappinesseveryday sampler. Just the lines to stitch and it’s done. My son is going back to school for a few hours this week so it feel like a good time to finish it as we start a new chapter. Some of our local shops re-opened and we all enjoyed the chance to browse in a non-food shop after 12 weeks.
We finally started work on our new bedroom wardrobe. This was supposed to be a lock down project but we couldn’t order the sliding doors from anywhere. They finally arrived so we pulled out the old fitted cupboards to make a start on a bigger, wardrobe. I can’t wait to have it finished and store my Orla Kiely handbag collection in it. It should help keep our bedroom tidier too.
Have a great week everyone.

June 22, 2020 at 2:13 pmThat cake is amazing!!! I love geocaching but a geocaching themed cake with hidden mini Toblerone’s is even more awesome! I need to make this a mission now, always have cake to celebrate cache finds! 🙂
We have been hand sewing masks, which is fun, I’ve certainly got into crafting more during lockdown, but a sewing machine would make life easier! Sim x

June 23, 2020 at 5:36 pmIt is so wonderful that your kids are still very active with Cubs even during lockdown. I think ours are not as active, they did organise a camp in your garden and what was it. Can’t wait to see your wardrobes once they are completed.

June 24, 2020 at 12:02 pmWow that cake is amazing! It sounds like you have had a wonderful week. Our puppy, (well not really now I suppose) turned one earlier this month and she is still as cheeky as she was when we got her, I am hoping she mellows out haha
