I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing.
Monday Happy List {Week 268}
Yay, it’s December! November flew by for us and now we are counting down until Christmas. Thankfully I’ve been super organised this year and feel in control of the gift giving and food ordering. We have some lovely treats lined up for December which should keep everyone happy, including a visit to see ‘TUTANKHAMUN: Treasures of the Golden Pharaoh at the Saatchi Gallery.
I started off last week by going to the Orla Kiely sample sale at The Music Room on South Molton Lane. It had been a long time since I went to a sample sale and although I didn’t need anything, I came away with two gorgeous Orla Kiely new handbags and an Orla Kiely scarf! It was so bad of me to go shopping the month before Christmas but I enjoyed myself.
I loved seeing all the Christmas lights and am hoping to take the children into London one weekend so they can see them. There was a pretty spectacular fabric tree in the centre of Liberty’s, as well as the under the sea decorations hanging above Carnaby Street. Oxford Street and Regent Streets were lit up too, it all felt very Christmassy.
Last week my daughter turned 8! She opened some of her presents before school and some after. She received lots of Pokemon books and clothes. She even had a Pikachu birthday cake. She asked for takeaway pizza for dinner and went to bed pretty happy.
We spent the weekend with family celebrating my mum’s birthday. It was so lovely to see everyone, especially my sister’s dog! We took him for a walk over Westbury White Horse which was fun, if a little muddy. I could finally give the children their personalised advent calendars too, it was lovely to see them open their calendars and start on the advent books.

Looks like you are so organised this year, I need to do so much more before Christmas, having a personalised advent calendar is such a lovely idea and how wonderful that your daughter has turned 8

Aww Happy Birthday to your daughter. I’ve always fancied going to a sample sale but never been near one. I think I would probably come away with something as well.
