I’ve mentioned before that my 6 year old is just crazy about dinosaurs. She collects Schleich dinosaurs to play with, loves reading about dinosaurs and has watched all of the Jurassic World films over and over again. We haven’t really done many dinosaur crafts before which is why our easy dinosaur fossil craft for kids is so overdue.
This is a really fun dinosaur craft for kids which I’ve done with my 6 and 8 year old. It’s really quick and easy, so perfect as an after school activity. All you will need is a sheet of black A4 paper, white paper straws or cotton buds (or Q tips) and lots of glue.
Easy dinosaur fossil craft for kids
The first step was to decide what dinosaur they wanted to create. We were going to use the white paper straws to make up the dinosaur skeleton so needed to know what we were creating. My son cut his straws into smaller pieces and stuck them onto the black card to create his dinosaur skeleton.
He made the body and head, adding legs and horns for his Triceratops.
When he had glued everything in place he added a few more details with a white pen. I especially love his ferocious teeth!
He added a little sign, just to make sure everyone knew it was a dinosaur skeleton rather than a real one!
