My children are really enjoying the mini-heatwave we’re currently experiencing. I have to admit that my fair English skin is struggling but with two kids full of energy we are making the most of the good weather by getting out and about. Our family calendar is booked with play dates, picnics and parties which is lovely.
Great days out with Capri-Sun Original 50% Less Sugar
I’m pretty good at packing a picnic for family days out now. At the weekend we visited Paradise Wildlife Park and with the temperatures soaring I had to make sure to pack plenty of drinks. I try to steer clear of fizzy drinks or anything with artificial nasties so packed the new Capri-Sun Original 50% Less Sugar, Nothing artificial range.
The new recipe gives kids all the fun and great taste of an Original Capri-Sun but with 50% less sugar and contains nothing artificial like preservatives, artificial colours, or flavours. They are great for keeping kids hydrated in this weather and with so many flavours – including Orange, Blackcurrant, Tropical, Mango and Summer Berries – there is a flavour for everyone.
I know lots of soft drinks makers are reducing the sugar content of soft drinks which is great for all of us. The new Capri-Sun original recipe has removed 50% of the sugar by using Stevia which is a sweetener from a natural source. Thankfully the taste is the same – well, my children definitely can’t taste a difference, which is the only thing that matters when you’re talking about a favourite drink.
The iconic pouch also makes it easy to slip a few Capri-Sun drinks into their packed lunch for school. It’s great for squeezing into small places and I think I’ll be taking a few of their favourite flavours with me to Sports Day this week.
Did you know that Capri-Sun drinks don’t need to be served chilled? Yep, the Capri-Sun range is always ready-to-drink which couldn’t really make it any easier for us parents to ensure our children can have a carefree treat at school, at home or out and about.
I’d love to know what you think about the reduction of sugar in soft drinks. I wouldn’t want to deprive my children of flavoured drinks. They both get bored with drinking water and it can be hard making sure they stay hydrated. I find Capri-Sun a great treat. And with the new reduced sugar version, I can be sure they are having fun in the sun and I’m making healthier choices for them.

July 5, 2018 at 6:47 pmI’m glad to see that drinks manufacturers aimed at children are reducing sugar. Capri Sun drinks are great for picnics as they don’t take up too much room in the bag,.

July 7, 2018 at 8:42 amMy two don’t really drink soft drinks – they prefer milk or water. But on the odd occasion Stacey fancies a fruit shoot she always picks up the no added sugar ones as she thinks the other ones have a funny taste. I’ll have to let her no about these reduced sugar capri sun drinks. She might enjoy them π
