Last week was a strange one. It felt so long as we ticked all the *last* things off our to do list. There was the last Street dance and Beavers session, last karate class and I bought home bags of workbooks and art from school. My 7 year old had a sick day which I couldn’t believe and I just about managed to persuade my 5 year old to go school. I think they were both over tired and feeling a little emotional about the end of the school year. I felt sad too and took so many photos of them, especially on their last day. After 4 years at the Infant School my son is off to Juniors in September and he is so ready for the challenge.
But first we have 6 lovely weeks together and that has to be the best perk about being a stay at home mum. Six weeks with my children is a happy thought and I am really looking forward to the challenge of keeping my two children happy and busy over the coming weeks. I have planned plenty to keep them busy, starting with 4 days at Supercamp this week!
Back to last week and we started the week with the traditional water evening at Beavers. Because I’m a parent helper my 5 year old comes along with me. I’m pretty sure she thinks she’s a Beaver and joins in. She took along her water pistol and gave as good as she received!
I spent Tuesday with my son who was off sick school. He has a recurring problem with his stomach which causes him a lot of pain. He was up the previous night so couldn’t go to school. We popped to the shops and picked up his stationery for Year 3. I was surprised how expensive it all was but he had great fun showing everyone what he bought.
My 5 year old has been spending more time in her room and needed a bigger desk so we bought her a new one from Ikea. It was bigger than I thought so her room needed re-arranging! But she loves it and has been producing lots and lots of letters and pictures which is lovely to see.
I went to the Amazon Wish List 2017 event and Paperchase Christmas preview and had a lovely day in London. I loved seeing the new toys and products.
The children finished early on the last day of term. As a treat we went and watched Cars 3 at the cinema. They have always been huge fans of the Cars films so had been looking forward to seeing this for months! The film was good and the children loved it.
Enjoy the first week of the summer holidays!
