My husband has been spending a lot of time watching the recent launch of Falcon 9 which transports satellites by SpaceX. We all love watching the rockets launch and that inspired our latest craft activity – a burning asteroid craft!
Our latest box of Bostik craft supplies recently arrived and this months’ theme was Space. We haven’t done many space crafts but our craft box contained a selection of products including Bostik White Glu and a polystyrene ball. It was quite simple to turn it into a flaming asteroid burning through space.
First we cut the polystyrene ball into two halves.
Then we covered one half in tin foil.
The flat side was covered in Bostik White Glu and stuck on a sheet of black card.
We found some Blu Tack glitter pens from a previous box and used them to create a sparkling trail of fire coming from the asteroid.
Then my daughter applied some of the space themed stickers from our craft box around her asteroid.
My 5 year old enjoyed making this so much that she decided to give it to her Dad for Father’s Day!

When I was little, I used to love doing such kinds of things so I will definitely do it with my son too. However, he is just 2.5 at the moment. Wondering if that would be the right age or I need to wait for a few more years probably?
Now this is an awesome looking craft for kids, it would look amazing hung on the wall after as well.
This is such a great craft – I love that Daddy is getting it for Father’s Day! Kaz
Looks so cool! My 4yo would love this.
