First trimester over already

Posted on June 13, 2011June 12, 2011 by jenny

I’m hoping to record the highs and lows of my second pregnancy. So, from the beginning:

Week 5 – I did a pregnancy test to confirm what I already knew! I had an allergic reaction to something which made my skin itchy but the Doctor said it was nothing pregnancy related. I sent off my self referral form to the North Middlesex Hospital (where I had my son last year).

Week 6 – Feeling tired, tiny weight gain and discomfort around csection. Suffering from terrible nausea all day long so started listening to a great mp3 from Mums 2 Tums.

Week 7 – Feeling really tired, more wight gain especially around boobs. Unfortunately caught a vomiting bug along with my husband so generally felt quite poorly!

Week 8 – tired, weight gain

Week 9 – attended booking in appointment with miserable midwife who sounded like she was reading from a script. Had first of many blood tests and urine tests

Week 10 Still tired, with the added bonus of back ache and weight gain. I started unpacking all my carefully packed away maternity clothes – they look very out of date 🙁

Week 11 – another urine test at the hospital as the previous one showed a possible infection/contamination

Week 12 – finally got the scan which showed one healthy happy baby sucking it’s thumb. We took Edward who clearly didn’t know what was going on but it was great to share the moment together. More blood tests.

Week 13 – went looking at double buggies, hubby started moaning about how they wouldn’t fit in the car boot and started to think about house hunting too. Another blooming urine test as last one showed a possible infection/contamination

Phew, end of my first trimester. Roll on the second trimester!

I’m probably being complete baby brained here but oh my days I did not realise you were pregnant! CONGRATS! You can’t be that far from me if you use North Middlesex Hospital! I’m SW London! Now onto 2nd Trimester where you bloom 😉

Not really enjoying it second time round tbh. Live in north London on the Piccadilly Line although we’re thinking of moving a bit further out. You can give me pregnancy tips at CM!

Apparently you are less tired in 2nd trimester (certainly held true for me) hope all going well. X
