Eastcote House Gardens

Eastcote House Gardens {exploring the local area}

Posted on April 13, 2017August 3, 2020 by jenny

We’ve now lived in our present house for 4 years. The time has gone so quickly but we’re still discovering local places. I thought it would be fun to write about some of favourite places, and record the new ones we discover too. As the weather is getting warmer we’re so excited to get out and about more.

Eastcote House Gardens

Eastcote House Gardens is actually one of the first places we visited when we first moved to the area. It’s a large public park, formerly the site of Eastcote House. The house was demolished in the 1960s, leaving a gorgeous walled garden, dovecote and coach house of Eastcote House.

Four years later we finally made it back and quite a bit had changed with a new cafe, public toilets and car park. It’s a gorgeous place with plenty of open space for the children to run around. We took a football and our radio controlled car and found lots of space to play with them. There were dog walkers and runners and the car park was pretty full, it’s a great asset for the local community.

Spring is always a lovely time to visit and we were blown away by the pretty gardens. The daffodils were almost over but we spotted tons of bluebells hidden amongst the trees. There were several volunteers working around the place and the gardens are really well looked after.

My favourite part is the old walled garden. Everything is so neat and tidy and the herb gardens smell divine.

After a lovely walk around the gardens we treated ourselves to a drink in the cafe. Sadly they weren’t serving hot food on the day we visited but the cakes looked divine. We settled for hot drinks but can’t wait to go back again soon.

    Just looking at the photos refreshed me! I love spending time in nature. It is so therapeutic and calming to the soul. Great photos! Would love to spend some time here in person. 🙂
