Mistletoe sun catcher

Mistletoe is such a pretty plant. We usually buy a bunch in December to hang inside our home – the perfect thing to grab a Christmas kiss under! This year we couldn’t find any to bring indoors so we decided to make our own mistletoe sun catcher.

We used: cellophane wrappers from sweets, contact paper and white card.

First I drew a piece of mistletoe on a sheet of white card.

I cut out the mistletoe using my scalpel and cutting mat but you could do this with scissors. I covered one side with a piece of contact paper then my daughter snipped the cellophane pieces and covered the contact paper with green pieces. When she had finished I covered the other side with more contact paper and cut around the mistletoe.

The weather has been beautiful lately, perfect blue skies but bitingly cold – just how I like winter to be.

Our mistletoe sun catcher looks beautiful against the winter sky and will hopefully continue to bring us pleasure on the grey days too.
