Monday happy things

Posted on October 26, 2015May 6, 2017 by jenny

How can I not start off my weekly Monday Happy Things post with Parents evening? Now both my children attend the local school I had the pleasure of two parents evenings. It’s always lovely to hear other people saying nice things about your children and they both got glowing school reports. At 3 and 5 they are both young but it’s still great to hear they try their best and enjoy learning new things. They both got new books as a reward ( Little Sis received a set of The Dinosaur Who Pooped books and Big Brother received The BFG along with the audio books).

Half term started for us on Friday with a trip to the RAF Museum at Hendon. We try to go every year as both my husband and son love planes. They could have spent all day there and we particularly enjoyed the Battle of Britain exhibition.

On Saturday I was allowed a child-free day to attend a workshop run by Jessie Chorley at her shop on Columbia Road. I’m hoping to write a post about my day soon but it was lovely spending the day with like-minded people making Christmas decorations.

If you’re looking for something to do over half term then you might be interested in the Super 4 Treasure Trail as Playmobil has hidden the world’s most expensive Super 4 figures across London. From now until Christmas young adventurers have the chance to find limited edition hidden treasure across four trails. Print or download the free maps to your smartphone or tablet to help you find where the special gold figures may be hidden. To find out more about what the trails involve visit super-4.co.uk to see more details.

Is it too early to mention Christmas? I must admit my planning is coming along really well and I’ve started buying some of the presents too. I spotted these Gingerbread Whirls at the supermarket recently. I love trying anything gingerbread flavoured and these were pretty delicious.

Gingerbread whirls sound lovely. I would buy them, but I would eat them all.
I’ve heard good things about The Dinosaur that Pooped… books, good preschooler sense of humour too 🙂
