On Saturday I got the chance to spend a rare day with my son. We had been invited by DryNites to spend the day at London craft workshop Tea & Crafting and have some fun crafting time together. My 4 year old loves to craft so I knew he would enjoy this. He loved every second!
Christmas crafting at Tea & Crafting
You may remember I had previously spent a crafty morning with the DryNites team and Tamara Melvin earlier this year. If you recognise the name, she was the finalist in the Great British Sewing Bee. She had two fun crafts for us to make together, they were age appropriate which meant I just sat back and watched as my son made some decorations for his room. He adores his bedroom, which has recently had a bit of a big boy makeover.
Our first project was a pretty Christmas tree shaped sun catcher. We love making sun catchers and this was a sweet project which let him be really hands on and creative.
The second project was to upcycle a Christmas jumper to make a personalised stocking. I love this picture which shows you how happy he was with his jumper choice – the one Daddy gave us was quickly discarded in favour of this lovely festive jumper.
We cut out a stocking shape from a paper template, embellished it with his initial, a snowman and some pompoms he made. Tamara finished it off by sewing round the stocking and it all came together just in time for a delicious lunch.
I love the DryNites team as they are so friendly and helpful. We rely on their age-appropriate products for my daughter (PullUps) and my son at night time (DryNites pyjama pants). They have some great products to get you through potty training and beyond. I think they also help my two understand the transition they are going through as they grow. There’s tons of useful information on the DryNites site and you can also download the instructions for some fun crafting projects for your little ones’ rooms here.
