Now we’re back from our week away we’ve been having lots of fun playing with our toys at home. Both children said they missed their toys whilst we were away (and it felt like we had taken most of them with us!). The Lego Duplo Batcave Adventure has been the latest addition to our collection.
It’s a great set and my 4 year old has been enjoying building it, it fits perfectly on our Lego table. He’s more than capable of following the instructions and this is one of the things I love about Lego Duplo. The instructions are clear enough for him to follow with a little help but he gets great satisfaction from following them and seeing the final result.
This set reminds me a little of the new Lego Junior range as it contains some larger elements, such as the Batwing. I love the inclusion of the computer screen bricks showing Robin (just in case you wondered why he was missing!). A couple of other things we like about this set include the canon on the Batwing which fires yellow rockets, the hook and winch and the turntable – all great for interactive and extended play.
I should also mention that the instructions include three further suggestions for you to make with this set. My 4 year old often seems to make the same things with his bricks (mainly garages and aircraft hangers) so I find these ideas really useful for him.
Lego Duplo also sent me this fun Bat Face image so I could share it with you.
It only uses 14 bricks so is a great shape to build. My son loves it so much he’s been building it in all different colours, I think so far he’s made 4 versions.
Do let me know if you try it at home.
