Recently I was sent a copy of 101 things to go with an envelope to review. I love crafting but despite a Pinterest board full of paper-themed crafts, I rarely make any of them. So when I saw this book featured in a magazine I was really excited! How often do you put your envelopes in the recycling bin, wishing you could give them another lease of life?! Well now you can.
How many times have you been through your post, and ended up with a pile of barely marked envelopes? Are you organised enough to keep them for future use, do you throw them in the recycling bin, or do you start to wish there were more satisfying ways of reusing them? Whether you are stuck on a train, or just stuck indoors, you will find plenty of inspiration here to pass the time, and to empty your rubbish bin. There are instructions for making personal items such as jewellery, stationery from mini notebooks to business cards, household necessities such as jar labels and a chopsticks holder, things for kids to make and play with, and festive decorations for everything from Christmas to Valentine’s Day. You can even create a fly whisk from a plain paper envelope, or make something more elaborate from lined or coloured versions.
I love this little book, from the way it is presented (envelope sized with a velcro opening) to the five categories (accessories, stationery, decor, children and festive) to the clear instructions. Some of the ideas are familiar but there are lots of lovely new ideas. The children’s section has some really fun ideas, from finger puppets to mobiles, a Native Indian headband and story stick puppets.
